All Points West | Live Blog: I recycled all weekend and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

If you weren't aware - which I'm sure you weren't - organizers behind the All Points West Music & Arts Festival took many steps to provide us with an eco-friendly festival this weekend. From encouraging concert goers to use mass transit to donating $2 from every ticket purchased to the Friends of Liberty State Park, it was a green event whether you want to acknowledge it or not.
This weekend I decided to play along with APW's little green game. Among all the green activities I could've participated in, I decided to recycle to get free stuff. Apparently every plastic bottle was worth one point towards some "cool" APW merchandise. So I did it. I was on a mission all weekend to land an I-pod or flat screen... because last time I checked those items were considered "cool" stuff. But when I cashed in my plastic bottles, all I got was a lousy t-shirt, and some lame keychains. Damn you Mother Earth, I've been had for the last time.

Regarding picking up plastic bottles at this festival, if people weren't such disgusting, irresponsible, selfish pigs, and put their own bottles into the many garbage boxes, then there wouldn't be a need to pick up bottles. Also, people should pick up bottles and other garbage left by slobs just for the sake of keeping Liberty State Park festival a clean looking place and shouldn't need any motivation of free stuff. It's true that place should have said free tee shirt (and small chance to win ipod, etc.) but what's wrong with just picking up the stuff left by the pigs who don't even deserve to come to festivals, just for the reward of doing a good deed.
