The CW Star of the Week: Joho
![]()
Full name: Paul Joseph Otto Johansson
Where you can see him: On One Tree Hill, season premiere Wednesday, September 27 at 9/8c
What would you watch at a Paul Johansson screening party? He's also appeared in Soapdish, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, When the Party's Over, 7th Heaven, The Drew Carey Show, and The Notebook.
Why we heart him: Can you imagine anyone else playing devilish Dan Scott? The character is his, and his alone. Do you loathe him as much as we do? Can Dan ever be trusted - or redeemed?
Did you know? He won a Outstanding Writing Daytime Emmy award in '03 for The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie. PJ's a triple threat - writer, actor and director!

Paul is a great actor, I don't think anyone could have played Dan better. I think he looks like he could have also played Superman's character. He has the looks. The man is old enough to be my father so thats all I'm going to say about his looks.

Dan's my favorite character on the show. If I was 40... ooooh, baby. ONE FINE MAN

This actor has skillz. Its nice to see him play Dan the way he does. The way the character is portrayed is great! I wouldnt be surprised if I met him in real life and he acted the same way he does on the air! *swoon* He's such a hunk too!

I'd like to see the character redeemed and agree that if they could make us LOVE Nathan, they definitely can make us love Dan too. And after all his villainy (is that a word?) it'd be more interesting to have him be a flawed but likeable guy. I hope they go there.
I've read that the actor is really a cool and great guy...so it's a credit to his acting that he plays such a jerk so convincingly.
Also THANKS for confirming that he WAS the guy I saw in The Notebook (the mom's true love she never got over but he was poor...) It makes it all the funnier that OTH had an episode where a guy watches The Notebook with a girl and apparently it's her routine to seduce guys that way and they call it being "Notebooked". Little shout-out to Paul. :-)

I love Dan. I think everything that has happened to him should make him take a look at what he's done to deserve his wife trying to kill him. She a very nice person. He should be able to redeem himself. Enough is enough. Unless you go cartoonish, the guys got to learn his lessons and start being th eguy he said he wanted to be several times. He obvisously had a great dad relationship with Nathan and a sweet life with Deb - His fear of Karen and Lucas destroying that or having to say it was all his fault or whatever has long since played out. Let him be nice. Still wild and daring, but a lover and a dad.

Can he be redeemed? Of course. His son was, and he was well-hated in the beginning.....at least by me! Of course if he were redeemed, someone would have to take his place as the butthole of the show.
