Smallville: I'm Your Bro, Not Your Foe

Smallville

Oh, Jimmy, you're such an adorable geek. So oblivious, but so cute when you're being awkward. We did find it interesting the Chloe was evasive when Javier asked if Jimmy was her boyfriend. "Define boyfriend" isn't the most glowing review, is it? Hmm.

Clark was a little muddy tonight - no pun intended. He wanted to save the world, but we're not sure Superman's powers are what's needed to deal with issues like illegal immigration and abuse of migrant laborers. Does this mean Clark will start to focus on the sort of super-threats that he can influence or control? Or will he have to keep learning the lesson that super-strength and other abilities can't necessarily solve complex socio-economic problems?

We had a similarly ambivalent reaction to Lana. We're glad she finally called Clark on treating her like Lex's patsy, someone too blind to notice she was being manipulated. However... she kind of is too blind here. And her realization that money equals power? Hasn't she been paying attention to the Luthors for the last several seasons? That's their whole reason for being.

We did love Lex's stroll through the Krypto-freak lab at the end. He is embracing his evil side, and we think it's about time. He can put on whatever public façade he wants, but deep down, we know he's a supervillain just dying to break free. Let's see that transformation!

retty much nothing seems worth thinking about. My life's been completely dull , not that it matters. I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen.

Not much on my mind lately. My life's been completely boring these days. I've just been hanging out not getting anything done. So it goes.

I thought Tonight was a great show it really excited me

retty much nothing seems worth thinking about. My life's been completely dull , not that it matters. I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen.

I haven't gotten anything done recently. I've just been hanging out doing nothing. I haven't been up to anything these days, but it's not important. Today was a total loss.

Basically nothing seems worth thinking about. I haven't been up to much these days. I just don't have much to say right now. I can't be bothered with anything , but whatever.

First I'm a "Chloe fan" that is also a fan of Lois,so not ALL "Chloe fans" dislike Lois just as not ALL Lois fans dislike Chloe.Plus not ALL "Chloe fans" believe in the idea that Chloe is the real Lois, and not ALL "Chloe fans" want Chloe with Clark. Some want Chloe with Bruce Wayne(like I do),Bart,Jimmy,Lex etc. Also the bashing happens on BOTH SIDES.It would be nice to have a bashing free blog for once please. On to the episode.

I thought it was was an ok episode. I liked that Clark was very heroic, and called Lana on being Lex's "puppet".I thought Chloe was great. At first I was wondering about her "define boyfriend" comment but then remembered that this was supposed to air BEFORE "Reunion" so it makes sense now.
I thought the Jimmy and Clark scene was funny.I wish TBTP would've shown the basketball game(that would've been gold)maybe in the future. All in all it was good, but I'm really looking forward to "Justice" can't wait.

Let me try this again:

Uh, hello?? This is the discussion blog for Subterranean????"

Woah, Queenbee, you don’t say! Gosh I must have missed that. Let me say it again: Temp Lois’ absence was a relief in Subterreanean. See how I’m pointing out something I found so great about the episode? Like Clark/Chloe/Jimmy interactions in the episode? Something I did mention in my original post but you conviently didn't bother to read or post about? Helllooo? Did you bother to read the rest of my post, hellloooo?

What are Chloiser's so afraid of, that they have to mention her when she's not even present?

Cause it’s blessed relief from her barn doors, attempts at journalism and that musical score she gets when she does something stupid, just so we know she's doing something stupid and we should laugh.

LOL.. if you guys were so sure of your little theory, you'd be able to talk about Chloe without mentioning someone you consider the TEMP LOIS

And if you were so sure of Temp Lois was Iconic Lois Lane, Trisha you wouldn’t come on here and feel the need to defend Temp Lois and continue to make hateful posts. Or make remarks like this, courtesy of Queenbee again: Anonymous, I appreciate what you have written in your post, but sorry to say, in case of Chloe fans, it is not 'just one apple.." It is the case of "only few apples in the lot are fine, all rest is spoiled" Yeah, I’d say every fanbase has their share of bad apples as you & Queenbee have so aptly proven for the Temp Lois fan base.

If Temp Lois is the real deal, and us Chloisers are insert favoured derogatory remark here, why are Temp Lois fans coming on here and making awful remarks and generalizations about a sections of fans like Queenbee’s does above? And your own, Trisha?

I am sick of Chloe fans bashing and insulting Lana's character all the time. It is like only Chloe fans have a right to post and praise their favorite character.
Well, look who's talking. Clana fans totally broke all the records by bashing everything that stood on the way of their beloved shipper. And on this blog every post about Smallville is followed by a shit about Chloe.

Since the writers turned Lois into a dumb Boob Carrier, inspired by a Fallen From the Sneeze Barn Door, Chloe Sullivan is the only female character on this show to stay tuned for.

As for Lana, she is useless since season 2. Even her father ran away for her. I'm only surprised that so many fans stayed.

Eh, I liked this episode. A kind-hearted, heroic and proactive Clark, a unambigiously evil Lex, some chuckles provided by Jimmy...makes for a pretty good episode to me. It certainly beat the heck out of the previous offerings this season called Wither and Static.

And boy, I LOVED the Clark told Lana a little hard truth. She comes off as just foolish and annoying with her "Lex is so much better then you" crap. Stay the heck off the Kent farm if Clark has such a severe case of cooties then. I don't want to dislike Lana, but the writing on this show sure makes it easy to do. Does this girl just remember none of the times Clark has been there for her over the years? Does she remember none of the times Lex has lied to her? Ugh, just shut up and stay away from Clark.

I'm sure some people enjoy GreenArrowVille, but I watch Smallville for Clark Kent. Seeing him pushed to the side to promote another character just holds zero interest for me. And the excessive focus on Lexana in Static also did nothing for me as I find the relationship boring and annoying. So, focus back on Clark, with him taking a stand for the little guy was a welcome respite from what came before this season.

Ok, this was a bad episode, and the ratings were bad because:

1) It appeared in the middle of a block of repeats. Lexmas had the same problem last year.
2) No promotion or ads.
3) Lame FotW. Moleman? Seriously?
4) Few superpowers, no fight.
5) A crap script.
6) A guest star, playing an illegal immigrant from Mexico, who spoke worse Spanish than Clark.

Now, Lana was not bad in the episode, but the revelation that money = power? After more than five years or knowing and working with Lex? It made her look as dumb as a bag of hammers. Seriously, it was just sad. I'll ignore it as poor writing, since we also got Clex fight #5,327 (after Lex had banned Clark from the mansion... except for when he barges in, I guess) and Clana barn scene #9,638 (oh, Secrets and Lies, how I have missed you... oh, wait, no I haven't. Go away.)

There was a reason this one got buried, folks.

Twkkgirl and QueenBee - KK is still the most beloved female star of Smallville - by her fans. Just as AM, ED and AoT are beloved by their own fans. Not all Chloe fans hate the other female leads. Claiming they do is just as wrong-headed as if I said all Lana fans are paranoid, pandering, dim-witted sheep who pollute message boards and blogs with their mindless worship of a one dimensional, borderline schizophrenic half-wit played by an actress who's primary talent is the fact that light reflects off her skin in a manner that is pleasing to the eye. Is this a true, or even a fair statement? No, but it allows me slam a group of people I disagree with.

Smallville gives us all so many reasons to get pissed off at the writing, the directing, the acting, and the plotlines. Why waste that perfectly good hate on other fans? We should all be complaining to Al, Miles and the writers that we all want a better show, where all of the characters are treated better, continunity exists from episode to episode and season to season, and no character has to say something as dumb as money = power as a serious statement!

Hee! You're so right. Lana's "money = power" revelation made her look Dumb as a Box o' Hair. She's twenty years old, for heck's sake! Can we look forward to the scene where she discovers the wetness of water or the tasty goodness of ice cream?

Get rid of her!

Hey guys, it's been a while. This is Michael. I can't wait when Smallville returns next month. When we saw previews of future episodes following last week's all new one, you can tell this season will just get better and better. I guess I have a few little things to say...
1) I wonder why Lionel continues to study those 3 symbols in his office.
2) And I wonder if we will see a future episode from that past episode this season where that serum is able to heal people...who took the rest of it, or was it really all gone?
see ya guys and gals, lol.

yeah QueenBee...could be few apples... but that happens in all groups of fans...not only "chloe fans" as you named.

u know i´m a chloe fan...but i don´t hate lois or lana... what i dislike is people bashing so much other people!

**QUOTE Soulmates***
Sophie, if all fans realize that Smallville is based on the Superman comics and the 'end of the story' is already written, then I guess we can all enjoy the show without the endless debates of "Chloe is better than Lois" or "Clark loves Lana more than Lois" AM and KK are the stars of the show from day one and will always be, but we all know there is a character named Lois Lane in the story too. She is an essential part of this story since seven decades, and no, Lois Lane is not just a pen name.

So why not we enjoy all the characters because we know Lana, Chloe and Lois are equally loved by fans and the writers are not going to hijack any character just to please any other group of fans. All females have their place in the story and they will move forward according to the Superman mythology.

Just like we know Clark is Superman, we also know that he marries Lois, so it is not like that is going to change in Smallville. I enjoy watching all the three women because they are all special in their own ways. Obviously, Clark ends up with Lois but that does not minimize Lana or Chloe's importance to the show.

So let us take the characters the way they go in the Superman comics and enjoy the show.

My God, bravo, twkkgirl, bravo! :)

I don't think it was a bad episode at all. Lex sent Lana on a trip in the beginning of the episode. So thank god we got less of them than we did in Static "rolls eyes". I like this no non-sense Clark and how he stood up to both Lex and Lana.

I felt like pulling out my ear drums when hearing Lana say "I can trust Lex more than you" for the millionth time though. Plus she kicked Clark out of Lex's mansion so he should've just kicked her out of his barn lol. I'd love to see an episode where Lex goes to the Kent farm and Clark gives him an attitude and tells him to take off.

Anyway we at least got a less whiney Clark in this passed episode and I liked it. I wish the episode had the Green Arrow though. He's so good this season that he should have his own spinoff show but with the same actor playing him of course. As long as don't get a spinoff show called Lana Loves Lex...lol.

I don't get the complaining, everyone wanted a Clark episode. This was a Clark episode, he was a hero, strong, brave and stud up for what he believed in..yet this episode was the worst? Be thankful GreenArrowville was given a rest for a week and we got to see THE HERO we watch this show for..Clark!

I LOVED this episode and I'm glad it did so well in the ratings considering it was sandwiched in between weeks of reruns.

Remember that saying about one bad apple that spoils the whole lot?....

Please let us not assume that EVERY Chloe fan hates Lois and Lana. That's not true...as I am sure that not every Lois fan hates Chloe, or every Lana fan hates Lois or whatever...

Many people read these blogs and don't bother to post because the war continues to rage..and certain fans ON BOTH SIDES are at it constantly. So what's the point? Regular discussion seems to be un-obtainable.

Alot of us fans love all the women and are happy to see them in the episodes...

Okay, I myself am all for Chlark. But unfortunately I heard in an interview, with Allison Mack that Charlk was over o.O I just thought I'd tell you all that (the interview's at Kryptonsite somewhere). But anyway, don't you think Clana is kind of over too? Because I mean, it's been going on for SO LONG it's getting old, and let's be honest, we all know who ends up with who in the end. Whether we like it or not.

Lois is already working as a journalist and it seems like...I dunno, I mean in the comic book I heard that's how Clark and Lois meet, and I know Smallville is SUperman, but...I really do think the next major relationship will be with Clark and Lois.

Do Chloe fans have an idea that a lot of fans avoid posting on Smallville forums only because of their SPAMMING and bashing of other stars/characters?

"Uh, hello?? This is the discussion blog for Subterranean????"

Yeah, for an episode Lois wasn't even in, she sure gets mentioned ALOT... What are Chloiser's so afraid of, that they have to mention her when she's not even present? LOL.. if you guys were so sure of your little theory, you'd be able to talk about Chloe without mentioning someone you consider the TEMP LOIS.. whatever... This episode was ok... the ending was the best part. LEX!! And the trailer was awesome... I loved Jimmy, hes so funny... "I'm Your Bro, not your foe!" And its funny he thinks Clark is in love with Chloe? *Scoffs* yeah, ok! At the end, Clark didn't even know what the hell Jimmy was talking about! I think the CHlark ship permanently anchored at bay :), theres no way Clark Kent is going to hook up with Jimmy Olsen's Ex. And Allison Mack said herself that she is glad that Chlark and pining for him is over! (She also says the Chlois theory is false and that she wants to be remembered well for Chloe Sullivan but clearly people who claim to be her REAL fans, can't accept that, but thats another story :))

Unfortunately Temp Lois returns next episode. Funnily enough she has more chemistry with Ollie than with Clark *shrugs* I guess there's always a way to make sure she's soaking wet from something when she's in Clark's presence. That's attraction of a sort.

Uh, hello?? This is the discussion blog for Subterranean????

Chlark and Jimmy = the best thing about this episode. It was great to see an episode with these three. I wish there had been more advertising, since fans I know were sure it was a repeat this week.

Chlark is still present, I see and even Jimmy sees it. I'm glad that something is going to happen with this triangle since it's about time. Chlark versus Lexana will be an interesting dynamic, you know, before Lana returns to her martyr-dom.

It's a pity. Dark!Lana has more potential than the regular Lana did, even if her greatestly stupid line was in this episode: she's only now realizing money means power and opens doors for her? *LOL* The last scene showed that her presence hasn't automatically reduced Lex's IQ by association - Level 33.1 looks awesome.

I cannot wait for Chloe and Clark to get involved in this investigation. Thankfully they don't belong to the Temp Lois School of Journalism.

Unfortunately Temp Lois returns next episode. Funnily enough she has more chemistry with Ollie than with Clark *shrugs* I guess there's always a way to make sure she's soaking wet from something when she's in Clark's presence. That's attraction of a sort.

Alternatively, the gorgeous Ms Mack returned to form in this episode and lit up the screen. Jimmy needs to move on to friend-status soon so we can get Chlark and see the three of them as friends.

"So why the need to have her make that comment in just one scene? It was odd and out of place with what we've been seeing."

Because "Subterranean" was initially supposed to be episode #5, before her "wayward boyfriend" comment in Fallout. They moved this episode around and had to do some major reworking, but ultimately they cannot reshoot every scene, and this was one of those scenes. It would have made sense in the original timeline.

Agree with you sana...there's alot of inconsistency with the writing. Did anyone proof read first? Different writers perhaps?

Also the lack of school and higher education is sad.

And I am a "Chloe fan", but I like Lois too. And you are in your absolute right to miss her..just like Lana fans and other fans miss their favorite character if they are not too present.

I know that some people are upset about seeing too little of someone, or feel that there is too much of an apparently "know it all' someone, but the fact is that contracts were made long before we had any say in anything. I would love to see everyone, all the time, but sometimes contracts and story lines do not permit. And the be all and end all CONTRACT, my friends, is bigger than all of us.

This was definitely a filler episode, but ok for me nonetheless.

It saddens me to see that people think that the presence of absence of certain characters in any episode make it bad/good. The only person that has that power on this show is Tom Welling...and rightfully so. It is a sad day when either side calls for the removal of the "opposing character" because, frankly, they all have their place.

Al and Miles: QUIT SCREWING AROUND WITH YOUR FANS AND YOUR SHOW. Decide where you are going and stick with it. Your fans are not idiots, and are not willing to take whatever you think you should throw at us. GIVE US THE RESPECT WE DESERVE because WE MAKE YOUR SHOW SUCCESSFUL.

Stop throwing bones to encourage these shipper wars and hate for characters that have done absolutely NOTHING against the fans(believe me, you need more than that to get ratings), stop the lazy writing, and give some continuity. Don't dig yourself into a hole.

Honestly, the episode wasn't that thought-provoking, but there was a lot of good. I enjoyed the Lex and 33.1 ending, because finally - finally - Lex had that evil edge I've been waiting years for him to get. Lana's scene, well I tend to forget she was there. It wasn't worth anything to remember. I'm also over her repetitive "Lex would never ever lie to me" since you know, he has how many times in the past. Love isn't only blind, it's deaf, dumb, and blind with her. Just over it.

Martha's scenes I really enjoyed. Primarily because Clark did put her in between a rock and a hard place. Yes, she's his mother, but in the same vein, a senator. That could put her in a very awkward state if the police had found out that she had an illegal immigrant on the farm. Leading to worse repercussions, andif she's ousted, how can she help the state? Clark's heart was in the right place, but it would have been better to hide the kid in another place until it could be resolved.

Chloe. I'm so glad to see her coming back to smart, sassy Chloe. I've missed that side. Clark-Chloe-Jimmy angle not mentioned because I want more development on her part, her climb into adulthood. Jimmy's cute, but not someone worth writing home about. And Clark needs to have some more growing up first. And you know, getting over Wallpaper Lana.

The plot, meh, didn't interest me. It could have been better. Maybe they could reference it in a couple more episodes, just one-liners where more information came out; just as a sort of founding for the fact Superman takes care of the underdogs and not just his friends/family.

*sigh* Glad that one's over... now for the good stuff.... BRING ON HYDRO!

I considered this episode absolute filler. Very little happened to move Clark's arc forward. And, yes, I'm a Lois Lane fan & I missed her. That has no bearing on my thoughts, though, because I've enjoyed non-Lois episodes in season 4 and 5. It's just in season 6 that I feel that it just so happens that every non-Lois episode is terrible ('Wither' and 'Static', anyone?). I think this won't be the case in the second half of the season -- 'Labyrinth' is one I'm looking forward to, and that's a non-Lois ep.

The good parts:
-- Clark standing up for what he believed in. He's the ultimate illegal immigrant, so it makes sense that he'd have empathy for the boy. I liked that he stood up to Martha and had no problems lying to law enforcement.

-- Jimmy. Oh, that boy is soo sweet and funny. "I'm your bro...not your foe..." LOL... I had to watch that twice, it was so funny. And the way he held out his fist and the expressions on TW's face throughout the whole scene were priceless. I've heard that TW loves exploring the comedic side of Clark & that kind of showed in this scene.

-- Lex. Finally seeing evil Lex immerge. Lying to Lana easily, with no problems at all. The nice walk at the end with AFI in the background (while he's wearing all black, naturally) was a bit overdone, but I enjoyed it just because MR is so awesome. He can make anything look cool & I loved the fact that the "freaks" were trying to touch him & the last shot is of the door with the sign "Level 33.1".

-- The trailer at the end. Just seeing the clips from "Justice" took the bad taste out of my mouth from watching this episode. It reminded me why I watch this show.

The bad parts:

-- Martha... first of all, not enough of her. I miss the Martha/Clark interaction & I think that this was an episode where they could have had the mother/son working together. Instead, they made her act OOC by having her oppose Clark's position. Conflict for no reason other than to put conflict in doesn't really help character development.

-- Lana. I'm not a Lana fan, but I've been okay with her this season. For the most part, I think she's been utilized well & that the Lexana scenes are interesting. But I was not happy about a redux of the "secrets and lies" Clark/Lana conversation. I thought I was back in season 5 for a second. We get it, Lana. Clark is a liar, liar, pants on fire & Lex isn't. Setting aside that it's completely ludicrious that Lana has forgotten all the times Lex has lied and manipulated his way through things, she should at least come to the conclusion that Clark wasn't perfect, but Lex isn't either. I get that Clark hurt her, but she needs to stop whining about it.

-- The FotW. Pretty lame (are we back in season 1 again?) and the resolution was poorly handled. I understand that the budget wouldn't allow them to show the underground fight... but I didn't understand why Clark just left the criminal there while he went off to reunite the boy with his mom. Clark has super-speed -- he could have run the boy to the farm and then gone back to grab the bad guy and take him to the authorities. Or given the kid directions to the Kent farm & taken the guy to the authorities. It's when they do things like this that I want to throw things at my TV. Clark was very Superman-like the whole episode -- except at the end. Superman doesn't leave the bad guys lying around. He takes them to lcoal law enforcement.

-- Chloe. I've loved Chloe for a long time, but the writers are seriously screwing up her character this season. Her attitude towards Jimmy is quite puzzling and inconsistent. In a previous episode, she's referred to him as her "wayward boyfriend" & now when someone asks her, she doesn't say he's her boyfriend? But, later on, when Jimmy refers to her as his girlfriend, she happily rsponds, "your girlfriend..." rather than correcting him or side-stepping the issue? That's inconsistency within the episode. I get that Chlimmy will probably be over by the end of season 6, but this doesn't really seem a like a good way to go about it. She obviously likes him a lot, has a very physical relationship with him (if the whipped cream is any indication LOL) and she finds him endearing and cute. So why the need to have her make that comment in just one scene? It was odd and out of place with what we've been seeing. It's not really doing this (very enjoyable) ship or Chloe much justice. Let Chloe live in the moment and enjoy it for what it's worth or get rid of Jimmy & make her alone again. I feel that the Oliver/Lois ship has been handled much better -- and that's also a ship that'll be over by the end of the season. But, while it lasts, they'll handling it pretty well & true to the characters.

-- Met. U. Where are thou? Has the University just called it quits after the events of Dark Thursday? Is it every going to re-open? Why is Chloe still living in Smallville? (And judging from her conversation with Jimmy, has decided to settle in there quite nicely.) Lana seems to have decided that having a rich boyfriend means that school is not important. Clark doesn't seem to have any intention of joining classes anytime soon. And don't get me started on Lois's lack of interest (but, hey, at least she's got 2 paying jobs). What's the deal with school and the lack of importance on this show?

In short: completely filler episode, with a few good parts here and there. A person could have easily skipped this episode & not missed a thing. Judging from the ratings, in fact, a lot people must have decided the same thing in advance. Smart people.

This episode had good points and bad points and they all amounted to one thing: BORING!

This episode wasn't even really about illegal immigration, they just used that label to give an empty episode substance. The suspence over "Mole Man McDonald" (McNally)was contrived. Cute little Fernando couldn't act. And really isn't this a whole lot like Ryan?

The Chimmy ROCKED! Jimmy Olsen is magical. Hope Chimmy lasts into next season. Clark was looking particularly gorgeous. Even Lana had a wonderful moment of getting Lex to grant the immigrants citzenship.

Sad to see Chloe doing Clark's secretarial work and babysitting instead of going out with Jimmy but I was glad to see that she got a byline out of it! Yay!

Evil Lex strutting through 33.1 was wonderful. Clark was looking even more gorgeous than usual. Martha Kent shone. Her scenes fooled me into thinking this episode was really about Illegal Immigration... until she left the screen anyway.

The best part of course was the trailer for next years episodes. Yum, Yum! Lois will be back in January!

Honestly? Other than the last five minutes of the episode, which were Lex's little stroll and the mix and match trailer, this episode was just boring. I didn't hate it, but it was just meh.

Wait, I take it back. AA's Jimmy was fantastic as always. And ooh. we actually got to see Clark. *gasp* Shock!

Other than that, it was a plain and simple filler ep. No character growth or plot development.

And look, here is a general opinion on things:
I am however sick of seeing Chloe in every episode when her know it all support system could easily go to where it truly belongs. (Wait for it..)

Martha.

She's Clark's mother for heaven's sake and she's barely there. Instead we get this bad soap opera of "What ship are we tonight?" If I wanted a soap opera, there are plenty already on to see and done ten times better.

The writers obviously have no idea what audience they're trying to cater to and so they try to please everyone but end up doing a horrible job. They ignore their own continuity, character development, substance, and plot. Why? For ratings of the shippers clinging to whatever strands of hope they have and the little crumbs the writers throw out. That of course leads to the wonders of fandom ship wars. Drama on the internet. Haha. Oy.

Really. Enough. Create a plan and stick to it. Quit jerking your fans around for the sake of ratings and bad writing. You don't do yourself or your talented cast any favors.

Remember, the show is about Clark. When he's in an episode for less than fifteen minutes as the plot revolves around Super Chloe, Guest Star of the Night that adds nothing, Drama Lana, or someother weak plot device, you have a problem.

I think this was one of the weaker episodes this season. It didnt really seem to move anything along, or any of the characters. Apart from Lex' scene at the 33.1 this was less than average.

i really liked this episode!!!!could be considered a filler ..yeah.. but more clark screentime is always good! and level 33.1 at the end...JUST ROCKED!

i can´t understand why "some" cloisers hated this ep... i know ED was not in this episode but they already hated this episode even when it was not aired yet...please this is smallville not a soap opera... i know a clois kiss is coming, and yeah it´s great i want to see it too BUT u guys are like blind..."waiting for hydro" that´s all i read from cloisers...u think HYDRO is going to be the best episode ever...wait to see it!!...i can´t wait to see it cause my sexy Tom is directing:D... don´t bash SUBTERRANEAN just because there was no clois that´s all...

back to the episode...
DIRTY TOM!!! OMG!!!! SO HOT!
I liked the chlimmy scenes...jimmy is so funny!!! and the chlark friendship is there... amazing! hopefully there will be some chlark romance in the next eps... please!!! i´m loving that triangle...
chloe had another byline yayyyy!!!!!! she deserves it! remember chloe is an smallville creation...don´t hate her! she has done so many good things for clark...she and lois could work together, u know lois is starting so chloe can teach her some stuff...and they all can work together in the future...that would be amazing...

LOVE EVIL LEX! EVIL LEX=SEXY!!!!

can´t wait for the next episodes...

pd: love allison hair in this episode and...JAVIER ESTA BUENO! hahaha

I think the ratings were down because some didn't know a new epi was on, the topic isn't too Republican-friendly, and those that did tune in may have tuned out cause it was a bit confusing due to the fact it was suppose to air after Wither.

They tried to fix the timeline discrepancy by adding the fact that Lex proposed but Lana has already used the power money gives when she manipulated the scientist dude.

I think they should have stuck to ONE topic and not tried to combine illegal immigration and human traficking into one.

Other than that the epi was boring but not bad. Plenty of good things like 33.1, another DP byline for Chloe to show gradual growth of her journalistic path, Jimmy sees Clark has feelings for Chloe, Clark being the main character, etc. All in all good building blocks for future episodes while still being a stand alone.

Episode was good. No great, but good.
Tom was AWESOME GREAT and very, very HOT.

ShalimarFox/Zabby, Please just post all your thoughts under one name. When two posts appear within 3 minutes of each other and are marked by the exact same spelling errors (it's Wither) and bad grammer, it's obvious that they were written by the same person. But anyway...

Re: "Clark never had a thing for his girl and never will."

Enjoy you're moment in Hydro, because Labyrinth is not only going to prove you wrong, it's going to make you a very unhappy girl. I can't wait to hear what you have to say then.... :)

damn i loved the lexana scenes in subtreannean lex and lana were so cute togeather and finally lana tells clark she isnt lexs messenger o yeah MR was looking so sexy walking down that hall... i cant wait to c more lexana in january!!!

Even after all the cartwheels Al&Co must have done to have an actress willingly do the semi-nude/bikini scenes KK and AM won't do and shoving scenes featuring Temp Lois as naked as they can get away with at fans, fans are simply thrilled to see AM return to form as Sexy!Chloe - in other words, her dressing like she usually did before Jimmy came on the scene. This is too funny! Sadly, I doubt it will last. I'm willing to bet the next episode featuring Temp Lois as naked as they can get her will feature the heaviest advertising they can. And you know what? Fans will still be happy knowing Sexy!Chloe is back despite having Temp Lois' heaving bosom shoved at us and the storyline.

I thought this episode was going to be completely and utterly boring but the Chlark/Chimmy completely saved it! It was nice to see the Team Planet working together again, they have such great chemistry!

Not to mention, maybe Olsen is not as clueless as we all thing, I mean even *he* realizes how Clark feels about Chloe heh!

Give us more Chlark and Chlarkimmy and I'm sure the plots and episodes will flow better!

Wonderful episode with Chlark and Jimmy - and I hope it gets better treatment in terms of advertising further on before Jimmy leaves. I imagine the Green Arrow-pimping will continue ten-fold before Justice airs. If we have to deal with that before he leaves - fine. Just as long as Clark is great in the episode.

Unfortunately, Temp Lois will remain after Justice. You know, Green Arrow-ville was almost worth since JH and ED lifted each other's performance. After he goes it will be back to Temp Lois and her Lightswitches. May GA take her with him so we can get back to the real story of Clark, Chloe, Lex and Lana.

folks the show didn't get bad ratings because of who was in it or not in it....

the "Chlark" didn't make it bad/good, in the same manner in which the "Clois" in past episodes, or lack thereof, made an episode good or bad...or the "Clana" either.

From reading the IGN article, we see that the show got bad ratings because the plot line was hedging on a dangerous topic of illegal immigrants, there was not even a fight scene, and there was the ridiculously repetitive Clark/Lex argument in the mansion (which of course, had to bring up Lana).

That's why the ratings are so bad..the mere presence of any of the ladies does not make or break an episode...perhaps it is the lack of a plot????

Of course ratings were down - there was no advertising for this episode. No advertsing the return of Sexy!Chloe or the Chlark because lets face it, they're saving the advertising budget for Green Arrow-ville and Justice. Now if took advantage of what thie episode had going for it - like AA's comedic talent, Clark being a hero and the Chlark, things would have been different. Thankfully GA-Ville will end after Justice and we can get back to telling the story of Superman. May he take the grating Temp Lois with him. LOVED that she wasn't flitting around pretending to be a journalist. The fact that everyone needs to carry they character by giving her clunking journalism!anvils so we know she's found her true calling is making people laugh their asses off as to how silly she is and what this show is reducing an iconic character to.

Given a half-interesting storyline, Clark/Chloe/Jimmy investigating will be great to see. Justice will be great - Clark and the league working together and goodbye to Green Arrowville.

"It was a relief not to have Temp Lois and Ollie stealing time from Chlark and Lexana"

Temp Lois will be back next episode to steal time from Chlark and oh God, Temp Lois will steal Clark from Lana and Chloe forever!

Bad Temp Lois! Bad!

Okay, Subterranean is the second worst episode of this season, Whither still unbeaten.

The ratings are so worst, oh, I think it is all Erica Durance's fault, her acting was so bad, all she did was to show skin and lure the male audiences and...

Wait, Erica was not in this episode!

Oh Dammit! Now who would I blame for this episode being so worst?

It was all Allison's fault, she showed so much cleavage that the ratings went down, damn you Allison! Wear some clothes next time!

Strictly okay, IGN has been generous to give it 4 out of 10. I'd give it 3. Only because I loved Tom Welling and Annette O' Toole. She looked lovely, yummy!

For the first time in this season, I liked Lex, but aren't Clark/Lex confrontations becoming repetitive? And always about Lana?

Jimmy considering Clark a threat was hillarious. Someone needs to tell this boy he doesn't need to worry, Clark never had a thing for his girl and never will.

Don't worry, Jimmy's going to meet future Mrs. Kent in the next episode and he will know the 'Chlark ship really is docked safely' (That is if there ever was such a ship! LOL!)

Speaking of future Mrs. Kent, I missed Lois Lane, a lot!

Someone tell Al & Miles, Smallville isn't the same without Erica Durance. Please bring her in all the rest of the episodes!

The ratings for Subterranean are worst than Whither, I am surprised, Subterranean is atleast better than Whither, it has lots of Clark!

Well, atleast TPTB would never attempt Chlark after seeing the ratings for Subterranean.

Smallville is not Chloe Chronicles, people!

Wow! Clark Kent doing his own stuff! Great!

Okay, the immigrant storyline was boring as hell, but Lexana, evil Lex and Clark/Lex rocked!

Tom Welling looked so absolutely HOT HOT HOT in this episode!

Gotta love Jimmy, and Chloe and Jimmy look cool together, why her fans want to break her up with Jimmy? They rock!

Missed you Lois :(

Chloe is not his property. She needs to leave him so Clark can express how he truly feels about her and the destined couple can be together at last!
-----------

You need to read the comics dear, the destined couple of Smallville is Lois and Clark and that won't change! Sorry!

It would be better if Chloe doesn't let Jimmy go, coz then poor gal will be left alone!

Clark and Lois together for ever! That is the truth!

It sucked big time!

The ratings for Subterranean are the lowest so far!

God, I hope Hydro repairs the damage that has been done.

Oh yeah! offcourse, Lois Lane dating a hot and handsome billionare, nothing more painful for the Chloeers than that! I understand!

For the record, Emma before you jump to any more wonderful conclusions as EDLoisers are prone to do, I think Ollie and Temp Lois have great chemistry together on another show, not where they take time away from the regulars on Smallville. And trust me, the fact that Temp Lois is dating a Batman-wannabe is the least of Chloisers problems with her.

Man! Chloeers don't stop talking about Lois even when she is not here!

Why yes, it's called the After-Effect of the Flying Barn Door of Inspiration. Personally, I appreciate every moment of screentime free of the threat of a free-falling barn door for Temp Lois. It makes me enjoy the show more knowing that character growth will prevail rather than lightswitches.

A show about Superman and more of what??? A nerd who does nothing to get a byline??

I'll take nerd over a Flying Barn Door. Oh, and lets not forget the lying just so Temp Lois can get her name in headlines.

Also, nerd, like the nerdy Clark Kent, one half of the team of Lois and Kent? Alter ego of Superman? Even better.

At least she doesn't have to go running to someone else to do her research. That sure is a hard working Temp Lois who needs Chloe to do her research. Chloe, mind you who actually wants to work up through the ranks of the Daily Planet to becoming their top reporter, like most people without the lightswitches of Temp Lois? Even if it means she starts by serving coffee? Wow. Who knows the size of the Barn Door that will have to fall on Temp Lois to lightswitch the dedication and talent further along than Chloe's. Get out your dictionary, Emma, calling Chloe a Nerd isn't going to be enough to redeem the awesome lightswitch that will carry Temp Lois to under the Tiffany Lamps in the DP.

Lois worked hard for her front page byline and what did Chloogle do?

You mean between the Barn Doors of her True Calling, the lying about the alien spin and the spin on the GA article, kind-of- working-hard? Woah. If only characters on this show could be as gosh, darn it so hard working. You know, just about any jogger could get their name in headlines with Temp Lois' talent.

Not to mention, *g* we're back to Chloe being damned if she does too much and damned if she does too little. Chlooogle is just a convienent excuse to try and show that Temp Lois is better. Yeah, like that hasn't been done before and Temp Lois still comes up short with the hard work involved in her lightswitching and lies.

Get out of your Lois complex guys! Life might get better for you!

No, it's an Iconic Lois Lane complex borne out of the fact that this show is dragging her name down into the joke territory in the form of EDLois.

For the record, Jimmy needs to get rid of this pathetic girl he calls her girlfriend, he is the sidekick of this story but even he deserves better!

What Jimmy deserves is a graceful exit from this show and the Chlark storyline because Jimmy-the-boyfriend completely sees the Power of Chlark. He doesn't think he's enough for Chloe and he's right. He definately has to go with some dignity. God knows Lana is robbing Clark and Lex of theirs, and the show's writer's are doing a bang-up job of removing ILL's dignity if Temp Lois really does turn out to be the real deal *shudder*

Oh evil Lex, how I love you! Rosenbaum was awesome in that last scene.

Speaking of evil, where is evil Lana going? I miss her. She's so much more fun to watch when she's showing her dark side.

Jimmy needs to cut the "my girl" crap. It's getting old and annoying. Chloe is not his property. She needs to leave him so Clark can express how he truly feels about her and the destined couple can be together at last!

Bro not foe! BEST line of the night.

Clark was just. Wow. Can we say hoootttt? HOOOOT! And Lex was sexy in his evil evil way. But Clark and his heroism and his "define boyfriend" status in Chloe's life?

*sigh* It's great to see the show be about Clark again. FINALLY!

Clark, Lex, Chloe, Lana - now THAT is the episode I've been waiting for ALL year.

Smallville is BACK!

LOVED it. Loved it.

Clark was so heroic and so Supermanly standing up for what is RIGHT over what is the law.

And Lex with 33.1!!!! SO DASTERLY! WOO. And he totally played Lana, score.

Chloe got her third byline on hard news, HECK YEAH! That is TEH AWESOME.

I really wish this episdoe wasn't moved so far back in the seaon, we could of used a LOT more episodes like tha a lot earlier in the season.

Subterranean was okay. Considering the upcoming spoilers have stolen all the limelight and no one was really interested in watching this one, it didn't dissapoint as much as I thought it would.

Clark Kent rocked! Can't wait for Hydro and Justice!

Jimmy is too cute! Please, please, please keep him as a series regular, he almost sounded like Pete!

Another down..

Waiting for Hydro.. Waiting for Clois..

Loved Tom Welling in this otherwise weak and boring episode. He was the only thing to see!

*sigh* January seems so far away!!

Missed Erica Durance! Clark needs to team up with Lois Lane, soon, if this show has to be saved!

It was a relief not to have Temp Lois and Ollie stealing time from Chlark and Lexana (despite, well, Lana). More of these guys is what the show needs.

Oh yeah! offcourse, Lois Lane dating a hot and handsome billionare, nothing more painful for the Chloeers than that! I understand!

what a wondeful episode. I like it so much.

Clark the hero
Lex the villan
Chloe the truthseeker

This is why I love Smallville.

RUN FROM THE DARKNESS! STAY INTO THE LIGHT!...don't get pulled in people...dont get pulled in...

It was good to have an ep that focused on Clark and the hero he can be. Granted, it's not the best ep story-wise, but there was no Ollie stealing Clark's time, so right there, big plus. The ep got better as we saw Clark do this on his own. Independant Clark, wohoo!

Lex simply shines when he's not with Lana. While Lana, as much as I anticipated Dark!Lana, is as stupid as always. If only she could have stayed in Amsterdam.

This episode was interesting Chimmy wise. Jimmy, adorkable as he is, knows the Power of the Chlark. Clark completely ruined his big date without even being there and Jimmy's solution was to try and get Chloe to move to Metropolis. Which tanked in spectacularly, funny fashion. I would love to see where this actual triangle is going to go by the end of the season.

Simply put, Chloe looked lovely this episode. The beautiful, intelligent reporter we know is better than Jimmy. Bring us more of that: Sexy+Intelligence=Chloe. Not to mention another by-line!

It was a relief not to have Temp Lois and Ollie stealing time from Chlark and Lexana (despite, well, Lana). More of these guys is what the show needs.

Well, after Justice, that is.

I thought "Subterranean" was pretty good. I liked the whole illegal immigrant situation, and also the relationship between Javier and Clark. Less Lexana also made me happy, but I liked the scene with Lex in 33.1 at the end. You're heading in the right direction, Al & Miles! The previews for the January episodes also got me real jumpy - the one scene when all the Justice League members were walking together was amazing. Hopefully those episodes will be as good as the previews made them appear.

This epi was great! can't wait for Justice and the 33.1 experiments being exposed to the public!

Evil!Lex..I love you.you were sorely missed...but now you are back! Please stay! Don't go on vacation anymore!

While the epi was good, I found it silly that as soon as Clark found out about LutherCorp involvement, he does his usual and goes barging in and accusing Lex...now, he IS right, of course. But the trick, Clark, is to gather as much evidence as possible BEFORE you bring it up to the bad guy. That way, you have the goods on him before he can really do anything about it! If we just go to the bad guy, and give him our info so early, then he has time to fix things....and throw you out his window! (like he could!) See?...It's ok Clark..you'll learn the world of journalism soon enough! :)

Can't wait for more..but of course..i have to wait till Jan 11th, and keep myself with reruns...sigh.

Ohhh, a quick note to my shippers..allof us....can you see the bones being thrown?? Some argue Chlark this week, we have Clois coming up, and when you thought Clana had died, it seems that you were wrong!...you have some Clana coming up too!

So what am I saying? STAY AWAY FROM THE DARKNESS!...COME TO THE LIGHT!...don't be pulled in...believe nothing until you see it with your own eyes...don't let Al and Miles string us along!..you know they like to do that. REVOLT I say! REVOLT. :):)

just a little humor to lighten the day :)

Last night's episode of Smallville was really awesome especially the way that Tom Welling portrayed his character Clark and Annette O'Toole as Senator Kent when it came to concerning Clark's immigration status but Senator Kent does have point when it comes to helping people to not break the law. Both Tom and Annette make a really good chemistry when it comes to portraying mom and son. I am so looking forward to seeing Justice next year.

Note to the CW, please provide service thru Time Warner/Oceanic in the State of Hawaii. Only information available is thru the web sites!! Sounds like a good epi tho - can't wait for the JLA epi caps

Pleasantly Surprised!!!

I gotta admit, I really wasn't expecting much at all from this episode. For weeks people were talking about how much it was going to suck, but I was quite surprised with what I actually got.

First and foremost, this episode was all about Clark!!! Sure, there was some Lexana, but they are important characters too, and it really wasn't that much. For the most part we got to see Clark being very heroic. And being very mature as well! He really stepped up as a man in this episode, and the way he took on this cause as if he knew it was he JOB to do so, really screamed "Superman". For all those who have been complaining about a lack of Clark, and a lack of proactive heroism, you should have at least been able to appreciate that in this episode.

Jimmy Olsen was pretty funny tonight! And it's interesting that Jimmy sees something in Clark's behavior to make him think that he is in love with Chloe... because I see something too!!! :) There were some very subtle (and not so subtle) indicationss that the writers are preparing us for a Chimmy break and some sort of Chlark sparks. They are showing us that, as adorable as it is, Chimmy is not quite as stable as it would need to be to last. They don't really seem to be on the same level, Jimmy comes on very strong, and it seems the stronger he comes on, the more uncomfortable Chloe feels about it. She's looking to go a little slower, and Jimmy has the pedal to the metal. They both care about each other, but they just aren't in the same place. And Clark? Well, he's just waiting patiently :)

Chloe gets another big byline! I noticed they threw in a few lines that focused on her career, and the article that they showed us at the end was an indication that she may be moving up pretty soon! Woo hoo!!!!! The Daily Planet's sexiest Ace Reporter!!!

Lex was unapologetic! Finally, we got to see him being comfortable with his own evilness, and that final scene of him walking out of 33.1 was just awesome. I can't wait to see this all go down.

Like I said, considering I wasn't expecting much anyway, there was actually a lot to appreciate about this episode. And for all us who have been complaining about a lack of lack of INDEPENDENT, HEROIC Clark, a lack of Chloe's career, and a lack of EVIL Lex, this episode was definitely a pleasent surprise!!!

I did love the Lex ending and the irony of Lana wanting to fix the problem he made. The part I loved the most though was the trailer for upcoming weeks. It looks FANTASTIC! The whole crew - the Justice League I believe - all working together. Oh man I can't wait.

I didn't think this episode of supernatural was anything special. It wasn't that great.. good but not great.. chloe and jimmy made the episode good.

Oh Claire..I was just WAITING for you this morning!

Holy Guacamole, Batman! I don't know about you guys, but for me, Subterranean was worth the 2 week wait!

Despite the fact that I was looking for an underground fight, and was sorely disappointed..maybe they are leaving all the good stuff for Justice? One can only hope.

And I thought that Lex was corrupting Lana, making her evil, and Lana was corrupting Lex, making him a whimp. But alas! I was wrong...and being wrong never felt so good! I loved the look on Lex's face when she talked about all the "good" they could do. HA! did she miss the memo where it says that Lex is evil! LOL...and she also missed the memo where Lex lies...ALL THE TIME. I find it strange that she is so willing to believe that Lex doesn't lie to her..when she already has evidence that he does....but somehow Clark is the ultimate, evil liar, full of deception and malicious deeds. But on a brighter note, be happy Lana fans...she isn't evil!

Was I the only one who was freakin' scared when Martha said "You're not going anywhere"....she was scary, so scary that I wouldnt have been surprised if she pulled out some Kryptonite and carried Clark to a lab for experiments....I have a new one for you folks....Scary!Martha.

Hooray that Lana gets in front of lines at a museum and realizes that money is power! Now, she can get into clubs too!..can I come with her?

Loved Clark...telling Martha he was an illegal alien too made her quiet down REAL QUICK!...Yes, Clark, you are actually the epitome of illegal aliens! ha!....hey, Supes represents all mankind right? Love it.

Of course, no words can explain the Lex-33.1 walk...except maybe....PURE GENIOUS!

As for Jimmy and whipped cream...well, I don't know if to close my eyes at the image or give him a handshake for being an undercover freak. But, fellow fans...just remember one thing....
The next time Jimmy says something so stupid that you are not sure whether to say "Awww, that's cute", or to just slap him, them remember this:

JIMMY IS YOUR BRO...NOT YOUR FOE!...
(hmmmm, sounds like something Pete would say...come back Pete! come back!)
