Speaking only for myself (and who else am I going to speak for, I wonder?), I think my biggest issue with the anti-Lois threads I've read online is that I have yet to hear what problems non-fans have with the character as opposed to the actress. By far, the complaints I've claimed that she's "old" (she's a year younger than me, so I must protest) and/or a "bitch" (ooooookay...vague, crude, and insulting without offering supporting evidence. And I personally think whatever point is being made with that can be done without the use of random profanity without supporting commentary).

I by no means condone personal attacks on fans of a character/ship - except perhaps fans of Mionel, because it's just too creepy (*joke!* Well, the first bit, at any rate. ;) ) - you have to understand that it's frustrating as a fan of a ship/character to face such hostility which seems, in the manner in which it is largely presented, a rather petty attack and not a particularly well-crafted argument against the character as opposed to - in the issue of age - the actress.

Incidentally, I am fully aware that this phenomenon is hardly exclusive to this ship/character. But again, I must reiterate, as a fan of the character/ship, I'm sure everyone here - no matter what ship they support - will agree that it's frustrating.

As is, incidentally, the number of times Clark/Superman has killed ILL. Superdickery.com has a whole gallery dedicated to it, if I'm not mistaken. Just saying.

All that being said, I am a Clois fan. I have been since pretty much the introduction of the character, and - while I do have my personal issues with some of the ways the character/ship has been presented on the show - I think EDLois is probably my favorite incarnation to date.

As a former fan of Chlark (I didn't get started on the show until right before they started airing SSN 4, and then I had to catch up very quickly. I felt very sorry for my roomie the day I finished SSN 1, when she had to break the news to me that Chloe and Clark never do get together), I must confess that I no longer quite understand the desire so many fans have to see Chlark. I stopped entertaining that fantasy somewhere around seasons two or three.

Please don't misunderstand; I have no problem with Chloe. With the exception of a handful of notable moments, I have always had the greatest respect for her character. At the same time, I think if I were her, I'd want to shove Clark off the edge of a cliff by this point. I mean, he seems pretty intent on beating a certain dead horse into oblivion; how many times does he have to hurt Chloe before she lets him go and realizes she's better off without? (At least Lois hasn't really really been hurt by him. Yet. Must bear in mind the "yet".)

I read a post once by someone who said Chloe "deserved" to be with Clark at this point because she had, in essence, "paid her dues". I don't think I've ever wanted to smack somebody more. I think Chloe deserves to be with somebody who appreciates her for who she is, not somebody who clearly is keeping her and every other woman in the world on standby while he chases after Lana. (And why that is, exactly, is another thing that has never really been explained to me. I am resigned to forever being in the dark on that issue.)

(So, no, EDLois/Clois isn't the only character/ship I think they've dropped the ball with in the past. And, in case anyone's curious, I think they've done more than their share of the same with Clana.)

It's nice that some people find Lois fans genuine complaints against the nature of this blog post...amusing. If the shoe were on the other foot and all that, I say. And a lot of the original complaints/comments by Lois fans here were infact just about that, the blog post. Not about Chloe. How did this become all.about.Chloe. yet again? Because ofcourse, Chloe fans decide to come on here and start talking about Chlark and Chloe, when infact the blog has nothing to do with either. Real nice. I'm not surprised by this behaviour, but it's irritating all the same.

Are you confused with the "EDLois"? As in a way to separate Kate Bostworth Lois (KBLois); Margot Kidder Lois (MKLois) etc? Or is it just easy to attack fans personally because you have no defense against their issues with the character of EDLois?

This never fails to amuse me, LOL! Chloe wins things fan-polls on Kryptonsite (where you can't rig the polls) and Nois doesn't and somehow that translates into her being less popular and accusations at the mods. Dude, if massive generalizations is your thing, go for your life. Just remember your sides favourite words: deluded, biased, pathetic Chloe fans, superior EDLois blah, blah blah. That last one gets me every time, hehee. There's no superiority when Chloe has to be completely removed from the show for EDLois, who has her very own laugh track to be seen as any sort of ILL.

How about we end the nonsense and give us a Clark who is finally smart and savy enough to do something on his own? As much as I may ship a particular couple, I rather have Clark not be in a romantic relationship. I rather see *him* grow up. This is Smallville, about the life of Clark Kent and how he grows up to be Superman. If Clark's journey to become Superman is reliant on who he is in "love" with, then that is not Superman to me.

Let's stop bashing the other characters as they all have their strengths and weaknesses. One does not have to be better than the other, because quite frankly it's the writers who have them portrayed certain ways and they are not always consistent. Let's just focus on the strengths of *all* characters and their fans.

It is in poor taste that people would want to make fun of any fan of Smallville for their views. A fan is a fan, and that should be seen as a positive and not as something to make fun of them about.

Actually, many polss, even polls in which voting is limited to one per customer, have shown Chloe and Clark and Chloe and Clark as a couple, to be the most popular. And why not? Chloe is everything Lois Lane has always been in the comics, movies and TV in that she is driven, smart, academically superior and most of all, has loved journalisma nd always wanted to work for the Daily planet. SVLois is lazy, stupid, unwilling to oursue academics and preferring to party until she first didn't graduate high school then got kicked out of college for disciplinary infractions. And she hated journalism until she was nearly hit by a barn door after which she wrote an absolutely awful story which no one except a tabloid rag would accept and then only if she agreed to lie like a cheap rug and rewrite it. In short, SVLoisd is a joke and an insult to the icon many people love. Fortunately, there is no indication she will become romantically involved with Clark who can't remain interested in her even when he's high on Red K. I don't blame him.

As for Lana, she is just as awful on Smallville as she is in the comics and is not at all a girl truly worthy of the hero's affection. It has always been disgusting to shove that idea down our throats. A girl like that should be shown up for what she really is instead of worshipped by everyone, including the hero, no matter what awful thing she says of does. Chloe is the only girl who pursues her dream, is smart as well as sexy and doesn't have to have a man attached to her at all times as the other seem to demand. It is way past time we got to see Clark wake up and go for the one girl who has always made sense on this show. Hi, me again...

My video wasn't intended as any kind of Clois bash or gag. It's just silly fun. I'm not anti Chlark or Clana or any kind of ship. I love all the different relationships on the show because they each have something special about them.

I've been thinking about it, and I tend to follow Clark's feelings on the show, really.

My Clois videos are silly and sarcastic with romantic undertones, because that is the current nature of their relationship (though it looks like things are changing).

My Clana vids are romantic and about them being in love, breaking up, or getting back together because that's how their relationship has been.

My Chlark vids are about Clark's confused feelings and Chloe's frustration over Clark, because that is what has been going on since season 1.

I just go with what I feel in the music and how the characters are generally feeling...along with a smidgen of artistic license with a plot or two here and there.

It's all in good fun and appreciation of a wonderful show with a great cast.

While the fans of failed ships have resorted to Erica Durance bashing and use of low tactics, we fans of Tom and Erica have the real show. We don't have to care about this bashing spree because in the end, we win.

I'm not exactly understanding the point of this blog. Is it to make fun of the person making the vid? Or is the purpose to make fun of the Clark/Lois relationshp on "SV"? Is to make fun of "SV", in general?

Actually, what is the point of your WHOLE blog, on a week-to-week basis? Are you supposed to be representing the fans? Are you supposed to initiate conversations amongst the fans of the show? Are you supposed to be too cool for the show and make fun of it's fans? I've been following your blog for awhile now and I have to say that I'm confused as to the point of it all.

Anyway -- this specific post was in the height of bad taste. You pulled a random Clois fan vid off of YouTube (from an array of hundreds to choose from) and decided to post it with an inane comment about how it made you laugh... even if you didn't that was the intention. I'm not sure what the CW told you (or whoever runs these boards) when they asked you to write this blog, but I'm sure that they didn't have "antagonize and annoy whole sections of fans" written in the job description.

As far as the actual vid is concerned -- I've seen it before and I remember thinking it was a decent vid. It's not the only vid out there to highlight the physical side of Clark/Lois's relationship. And, EzraSmall, it's not the only vid that takes certain scenes and cuts & pastes to make them manipulated to look like something else. I've seen numerous Chlark vids that do the EXACT same thing. (Not to mention that the majority of the scenes in this vid consisted of Clark/Lois scenes. Including the one where they have fun at the dunk tank and Chloe looks on, feeling horrible b/c she knows that he's looking at Lois in a way he never looked at her. Love that scene.)

In short: Who writes this blog and when are they going to get fired??? Until then I'm checking out -- no point in reading this junk. And I'm telling my other SV fan friends the same.

This blog has always been biased in its opinions but this time I guess it has reduced itself to the level of a couple of fan based forums on the net who have made it their mission statement to bash the characters played by Kristin Kruek and specially Erica Durance.

My humble protest goes out to CW in a short while because if their affiliates are supposed to be general fan forums, then this blog is anything but.

Tom Welling and Erica Durance is the best couple on the show. They are the best version of Lois and Clark.

Thanks to the writers and producers of the show for writing Lois centric episodes and focusing more and more on Lois's achievements as a journalist.

Lois is Clark's destiny. Since 1938 till forever. No one can take Lois's place. Period.

Seems like the more Erica Durance achieves on Smallville as the iconic Lois Lane, the more naysayers panic and come out with bashing, insults and gags like this.

If laughter and fun was intended, how about a video making fun of Chloe's eternal pining of Clark, her unreturned feelings and her 'back pocket' status in his life?

No problem, while all you people have left is bashing and bickering, we have the actual show to look forward to, not to mention the end that is already written in favor of Lois and Clark, many decades ago.

To add my own two-cents: This video was just a silly idea I had, and I had a lot of fun making it.

I love Lois' character and I think she's gorgeous, so it was simply a video about Clark noticing it. So to everyone who thought this was funny; thank you! That was my intention!

There are a lot of songs that are angsty or have a deeper meaning, but I wanted to have fun and for the viewers to have fun and laugh!

I put a lot of time and effort into this and feel that it's more than "somewhat mediocre". I'm very proud of it.

I'm not sure what was the purpose of posting this or who's behind this blog, but this was very tasteless. Posting someone else's creation and mock it is not right. I've always believed there's some serious biased opinions going on in this blog, and I think this proves it.

EzraSmall, you right some of those reactions were not used in the episode towards Clois, but that's where the talent of the creator shines; It works flawlessly, and Pychick should have her dues for making a beyond excellent video, even if you are not one of its ship. I am sure if it was your ship, you-along with Pati and Monica O, would be commenting on her merit, and adding this MV to you favs, instead of mocking the perception she had to take advantage of what she was given in clips, to fit the tone of this song.
She could have used clips from Crimson, or Hydro, but she notice the hidden potential theses clips had for the song.
But I agree Monica O, the Spell clip is funny to this day.

Brillliant! The editing was nice, but just to correct a few folks, many of those scenes involve Lois and Clark themselves and it wasn't all because of clever editing.

Secondly, Lois Lane is the least described joke on the show as opposed to the other ladies.

I've been wondering for a while now, as to why there's no correlation b/w this CW blog, and the official CW boards. Why is the former so hellbent on often going out of it's way to diminish and undermine certain female characters of the show, while sometimes unnecessarily hyping up another. Such a stark contrast to the CW boards where there is so much support and love for those very characters that are ''joked'' about here.

Regardless, even though you managed to put a negative spin on this video, I thought it was ok. Had it's moments. Was far from many of the much better Clois vids on the 'net, but then, trust this blog to choose this somewhat mediocre video, as opposed to all the better ones out there.

I'm sure the writers and producers of Smallville know full and well that the Chlark relationship is what drives the show in many ways. I'm sure that TW & AM realize this as well. Anybody who follows the series knows that this is perhaps the single most popular relationship on the show.

If you think about it for a moment, what do you suppose would be the highest rated single episode of the entire series since the beginning? I would argue that it would be the episode devoted to the full realization of Chlark.

The writers of the series have evolved Chloe's character more than any other character on the show. Since the beginning, Chloe's character has grown, matured and blossomed into THE perfect woman for Clark. No other character on Smallville has undergone the character development that Chloe has since the very beginning. In one respect, you could say that Chloe has been sculpted and shaped to be Clark's soulmate. Chlark isn't just about Clark finally realizing his full love and passion for Chloe. I believe that Chlark is as much about the joy and emotions that Chloe feels after years of emotional pain at so deeply longing for Clark but never gaining his love. What a huge moment for her, and doesn't she deserve it?

All the years of coming in 2nd to Lana,....all the years of patience and personal devotion to her man......the faithful keeping of Clark's secret,....the willingness to die rather than to betray him,....her endless defenses of him to Jimmy, Lois or whoever might question his character....................Chloe is Clark's destiny.

Haha, what's funny is that so many of those scenes are actually of Clark looking at Chloe or Lana, and it was just cut that way to make it look as if he was looking at Lois. He never looks enamored when he looks at Lois - only mildly amused at best. But I guess we all see things differently.
