Supernatural: Monkeywench.net Gets the Scoop
We’re addicted to Mary Borsellino’s interviews with Supernatural actresses, writers and behind-the-scenes folks on Monkeywench.net. Whether she’s getting writer Sera Gamble to spill on Sam’s sex life – “My pitch for the concept of the sex scene was basically this: ‘He totally slams her up against the wall’.” – or the actress who played Missy Bender to talk about set decorations – “there were really cool things in the house, like a wind chime made out of Missy’s mother’s bones!” – she always gets the great quotes. Plus, we love how she talks to the folks who usually don’t get a lot of attention – the storyboard artists, production assistants, comics writers.

I saw the John vs. the Batman deal but how about Dean and Sam versus The Grudge lady? I really have been thinking about this lately!

Batman vs John Winchester?
How can anyone come up with a justified ProBatman response when Batman has been around for years and we only saw John in action for a couple episodes?
As for the "lackluster" of Salvation: What do you suppose John could do when a telekinetic Demon had him pinned to a wall?
Please: John fought scarier things than Batman.
How bout this instead: Michael Keaton vs Jeffery Dean Morgan?

I agree with Mary, I would love a body swap episode too. That would be hilarious

Great interview! the alternate reality episode sounds so delicious and a body swop would be great for next season! it's been talked about before amongst the fans and I know alot of people have been dying to see it. It'd be a real comedic episode and it would definetly top the laughs we got in "Hell House" and "Tall Tales"! :)

John would so kick Batman's butt. I loved the interview and thought she had some fantastic ideas. I can't wait for them to figure out how to bring John back. Demons beware when they do!! I think John's fury will be renewed and the boys old enough and trained well enough to be alot more help for round 2!!

Oh yes, I agree with Mary! A bodyswap episode is one I've been wanting them to tackle for some time now. Maybe it would be a good idea for some third season comic relief?

Dude, John would so bring down Batman. Papa Winchester battled freaking demons and spirits!! I'd like to see Batman get a load of those supernatural creatures. All he does is battle maniacs, which in fact the BOYS have in the Benders.
Great interview.
Thanks!

Thanks for posting this, great interview. I'd love to see the body switching as well. But I have to say, John Winchester would win against Batman...he's that good.

That interview with Borsellino is interesting, even if I don't agree that the show needs strong female characters.
The bothers are more than enough!
But I'd love to see a bodyswap.

I wasn't disappointed at all. Bring on the sex, Sera!

Awesome interview, guys. Thanks for bringing us this! I wouldn't have seen it on my own. This is the kind of thing I check this blog for.
And John Winchester vs Batman...that's a tough one. Batman would win in hand to hand combat, but John's even trickier than the Dark Knight. He wouldn't be put in that situation easily. I'll put my money on John. Batman wouldn't know what to expect.

John would beat Batman through pure assholish stubborness.
Ok, so now I'm thinking of the black knight in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"
With John being beaten to hell and yet still saying that some fatal injury is merely a flesh wound.

I love Mary B, she always has great interviews with the minor characters.
Usually I also love Sera G, even if this time I was disappointed by all that talking about sex.
That's not why I love this show, I couldn't care less about the sex.

Mary's got excellent taste.
In hell every demon must pass a class on how to avoid John Winchester.

John would beat Batman through pure assholish stubborness. Batman would finally be like "God! Fine! You win, frickin' A-hole!" Then Dean would kick his ass for saying that, and Sam would be like "You guys, he's a Hero, just like us, why can't we all get along?! *sob* And Dean, don't forget to kill me when I turn evil, m'kay?"
Thanks for this interview with Mary and thanks to Mary herself for all the work she puts into this. Mary, you're seriously a fantastic interviewer, I wish more entertainment journalists took a cue from you!

Sera is one of my favorite writers. I enjoyed her interview very much.
I have to agree that Batman would come out on top in a fight. John was quite a let down. Of course, no one could live up to the hype but he really came off as quite unimpressive, despite is awesome arsenal. I even think just plain Bruce Wayne, without all the Batman gadgets, could kick his butt, considering the way he lumbered away in that incredibly boring foot chase scene in "Salvation". lol. I just can't picture him moving all that swiftly in a hand to hand combat scene. Of course, I'm looking at it with him being in his current stage of life (ok, so he's dead but you know what I mean). So, sure, maybe when he was younger and in his hunting prime, but the tired worn John that we saw? Not so kick ass anymore.

Yeah, I gotta agree with Melissa -- Batman would kick John Winchester's ever-loving ass. But other than that delusion, Mary Borsellino kicks ass.

Also: Interview with Ava? Excellent!

Sorry, but John Winchester, for all the build up was, as Meg said in Devil's Trap, "lackluster", man. He seriously did not impress me. I mean, sure, he's knowledgable and, according to Ash, was able to put together a pattern that no one should have been able to put together but he ended up being not so badass. He had badass weapons but ended up getting caught because they slashed his tires and he ran into a dead end alley. lol. Very lame. Batman could so totally take him down. lmao.

A Sera Gamble and Kripke Finale? SWEET!
Dude. Batman's codpiece would shrink in the presence of John Winchester!

Great sn! Mary and John ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kripke is well his wife is having their first kid too.
