Supernatural Big Bad Bracket: Group Two Results; Cast Your Vote for Group Three!
Boy, we had some nail-biters in Group Two of the bracket – one match was decided by a single vote. Whew! Of course, there were a few blowouts as well – as predicted, Mary’s Mysterious Past left Goofer Dust begging for mercy after it collected barely a handful of votes. Check out the results for Group Two, and see the whole bracket to see how everyone's fared so far.
How will things play out in Group Three? We predict a bloodbath in the Djinn vs. Jo match, and we’re confident Bobby will be able to take out Werewolves without breaking a sweat. Odds are that Possessed Sam will take down the Demonic Virus without much trouble, but the rest of the matches are up in the air. Will Mandroids defeat Salt? Can Gordon hold his own against the Yellow-Eyed Demon? Will Secrets withstand the onslaught of alcohol that is Purple Nurples? And which is stronger – Slow-Dancing Aliens or The Pretty? Your votes will decide! Start voting -- you have until next Monday to determine their fates.
Read on for a play-by-play of Group Two’s match-ups:
As we mentioned above, Mary’s Mysterious Past mercilessly crushed Goofer Dust – it was almost painful to watch. The Shapeshifter efficiently disposed of Disgruntled Writers, and Andy’s Van took an early lead over Henry Holmes to rev its way to victory.
The rest of the matches were a good bit more dramatic. Pop-Culture Knowledge squeaked by Vengeful Ghosts – we knew the Ghosts shouldn’t have agreed to decide the matter with a Trivial Pursuits Match to the Death. Prison was finally able to subdue Ouija Boards when it fashioned the planchette into a shiv. Ouch. REO Speedwagon apparently made the difference in the fight between Creepy Dolls and the Roadhouse – just enough of you found singing from the hair unforgivable, the Creepy Dolls took the lead.
Ava versus the Monsters of Rock went to the buzzer. The combined vocal power of Grace Slick, Dennis De Young, Tommy Shaw, Steve Perry and Lou Gramm finally subdued Ava, but it was a close thing. That last screeching high note, combined with copious hairspray and a flagrant use of spandex, must have been what did it.
Last, we have Hotel Minibar versus Point of View. These valiant competitors traded the lead back and forth until the last possible minute. A final vote in favor of the devastating power of mixing liquors came in at the buzzer, propelling Hotel Minibar to victory.
