The Reviews Are In: Bravo, Jensen!

Jensen's a hit!We told you earlier about how Jensen Ackles was making his professional stage debut in “A Few Good Men” in Dallas. Well, the first reviews are in, and it sounds like the play – and Jensen himself – is a hit!

Here’s what the Dallas Morning News raves about Jensen’s performance: “[I]t's Mr. Ackles who really sets off the fireworks in this A Few Good Men. He's slick and funny, but human underneath. His stage technique is nigh onto perfect – and this is a guy who's been working steadily on large and small screens for a decade."

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is less effusive, but they still praise Jensen’s performance: “Ackles started off nervously but quickly settled in and handled the military and law jargon (and a few comic lines) like a pro, with minor bobbles."

Alas, we’re far, far from Texas, so we’re not going to be able to see the play. (Curses!) But we’d love to hear from anyone who is lucky enough to get a ticket. If you’ve seen the show, tell us what you think in the comments!

Yay, Jensen Ackles and stephanie ware are married. They said it on tv and on the magazine book. Here is the link everyone:http://soy.bluebbva.com/2007/12/jensen-ackles-un-to-sobrenatural.asp

Jensen es el chico mas sensible e inteligente que existe en el mundo... por eso merece tener mucho éxito en su carrera y en su vida!!!

maybe I`m stupid or something , but is Jensen with Danneel? is Jensen seeing some one?

OMG, that is just so cute and very sweet that Jared went to see Jensen in the play. He went to show his BEST buddy's support. AWWW, I love jared! He is is so sweet. Way to go, Jensen!! Congratulations and I hope all went well for you.

Angie, seriously, check your meds.

In danneel harris dreams, anybody could date jensen in their fantasies, but it's not true......As far as I am concern you could be danneel, the way you are talking and attacking in a rude manner like that. Go take your fantasy to fantasy island....because we know he isn't dating her a.k.a. you....never will either, you just trying to breakup their marriage.

Well, I don't know what Rose is smoking because I've read a zillion things written by those who went to the play and no one said anything to elude that his ego was out of control.

Everyone was nothing but complimentary about his performance overall. There were some flubs but he moved along quickly. I've also read some comments about people in the audience, who were previously unfamiliar with his work, being very impressed with him.

Everything I read said he was very gracious and friendly when he came out to sign autographs.

And Angie, whoever you are, the nuthouse is looking for you. Jensen is not married. He's dating Daneel Harris. Many people saw her there with him.

How could you say that stephanie ware wasn't there and you don't even know what she looks like? I could say this, i know that danneel harris wasn't there, I mean no where whatsoever., Stephanie ware was there, had black hair and dressed casual and she was mexican and black.....very beautiful, way hotter than danneel harris.

Jensen ackles and stephanie warre rumors have been confirmed, because sources rumors said sources said so....thank good ness, jensen/stephanie ware

Saw the matinee on Saturday, June 9, and then the company manager escorted my friend and me backstage to the green room to meet Mr. Ackles and Mr. Phillips. Didn't get to talk to Lou Diamond Phillips as he was in conversation with another Texas actor (Barry Corbin) and his wife who had also gone backstage, but spent a good bit of time with Jensen. He was so charming and down-to-earth... seemed very grateful that my friend and I had bothered to fly halfway across the country to see the show.

I had brought along a leather coat much like Dean's coat on Supernatural, and Jensen wore it for a photo with me and then signed it for me. We had a few more pictures taken with him, he signed playbills and a photo for us, and we talked about the play (which was fantastic). The company manager also mentioned that Jensen's girlfriend, Danneel Harris, had been at the show almost every night, and his parents had come three or four times, as well. Jensen told us that earlier in the week Jared flew in to see the play and that was a nice surprise. (Jared has wrapped filming "The Christmas Cottage" in Vancouver.) He said, though, that Jared told him he jumped a little every time Jensen's character (Lt. Daniel Kaffee) called for his sidekick, a junior attorney named "Sam." (lol)

I have to say that, from the second Jensen walked into the room to meet us (and it was so cool that he agreed to do a personal meet and greet with just the two of us) he was the embodiment of class and charm. None of this, "look at me, I'm a star" attitude. He was just an ordinary (although incredibly handsome) guy, and very humble. He really took his time and did not make us feel like he was rushing the visit. And -- yes, gals -- he REALLY is that good looking up close and in person... I didn't see any noticeable signs of stage make-up or anything! (lol) The whole afternoon was an experience I will treasure forever!

I was there opening night. Jensen rocked. I don't know about any Stephanie Ware sightings, but Daneel Harris WAS there -every night, sitting with his family. I was three feet from Daneel and his parents on opening night.

Jensen stumbled once or twice with lines but he kept going and never let on. He did a great job overall and was just amazing.

I just feel so proud. *sniffles* Way to go Jensen.

One of these days he's going to break out as a major star and we can all say we knew him (figuratively) when. LOL!

If i still lived anywhere near Texas, I would so be there. *tears*

Jensen did a fantastic job! I saw the Friday night show from the second row. He was on the stage for almost the entire play which was close to 3 hours. Poor guy, there was soooo much dialogue to remember with no breaks to refresh. If you aren't familiar with military jargon let me tell you its not just something you can "add lib" if you forget. Not to mention all the legalese speak. You could tell he was pretty hard on himself when he made the slightest mistake. His acting performace was high caliber...much better than LouDP who has been doing theatre for years. (yes, I actually really like LouDP too). The funy part was all the shout outs to Supernatural fans. Jensen's sidekick's name is Sam and the female JAG officer's name is Jo. (its actually how the play was written but it was funny to hear him keep saying "Sam"). His character said he was afraid to fly and he seemed to be eating in a lot of the scenes :)At the end of the play when Jensen confronts Col. Jessup (LouDP) he said his trade mark "you sonofabi***" and the audience went wild! We even got to hear him sing as he departed the stage in the final scene. Afterwards, He thanked all the service men and their famililies. He was genuinely a sweet guy.

i was there at the play with jensen. I saw stephanie ware at the event with jensen and suddenly they left early and later after that jensen ackles and stephanie ware went to a soul food restaurant(for those of you who don't know what soul food is) it's a restaurant where alot of african american people eat at. He said gracefully that he's married and he wants all us fans to know that he loves us, so therefore jensen/stephanie rumors are true, i know because everyone saw them including me.

Whatever.
His ego is bigger than Texas and this play sucks.

Congratulations Jensen! Wohoo!
How sweet is it that Jared turned up to support him? Aw!

Hmmm, I posted some links to some play accountings but it has yet to show. Hmmph.

The consensus seems to be that our boy done good. Which I am so happy to hear. I love that Jared surprised Jensen and went to the play to support him. So sweet.

I'd have loved to have gone but, alas, it was not to be because I'm a broke ass bitch.

I got to see the play opening night. The rest of the cast was ok. Typical local theater stuff. Lou Diamond Phillips was over-the-top horrible. At one point, he walks out, stops, and puts his hands on his hips, chest puffed out. It's like he was pretending to be Superman or something. He tried way too hard at pompous and failed. As far as what the Ft Worth paper said (my local paper knows nothing), Jensen was not at all nervous. He was perfect. If not for his performance, I probably would have left at intermission. The funniest thing...the character most often with Jensen's was named Sam. He said Sam a lot and I kept expecting Jared to walk out and demons to be vanquished.

That is just fantastic. We all knew the boy was mega-talented, it's time for the rest of the world to figure it out.

I haven't gone but some of the posters on supernatural.tv, TWoP and Supernatural Gutter went and they had great reviews of Jensen and the play. So far, I've only heard positive things. Hey, the man is a fantastic actor and this is just another great performance to add to his resume. Theater is harder than tv and I give Jensen uber credit for taking on this very popular play.

I didn't see it. I live too far away. I read this was his debut on stage as a professional,so it's was quite a challenge: I'm really happy to read he did a great job.

Jared was there!! He went to see Jensen. Jared is the best friend ever!
Their friendship is the stuff of legend!
