Girlicious: Girls Get a Makeover!

The women of the Girlicious household got their makeovers in this week’s episode and much like America's Next Top Model, there were some happy campers... and at least one who wasn’t incredibly pumped to have their hair changed. Just goes to show you, you can never make everyone happy.

The show began with the girls coming back from last week’s de-boa, and many of the girls were shocked that Alexis was the one to leave. Chrystina couldn’t believe she was put in the bottom two, and Jenna had some problems with being in the bottom four. What part of “competition” do these girls not understand? We realize that in order to compete, you have to have confidence in your abilities, but in order to change and get better you also need to listen to some constructive criticism and grow from it. Someone will always have to be in the bottom two (or four), we say: get over yourselves.

The following day, the girls were treated to a makeover to represent their personal styles. Our favorite of the looks was Carrie – who finally got rid of those gnarly black roots, which didn’t mesh very well with the rest of her platinum blonde hair. She kept her rocker-chic while also looking very well manicured. UPGRADE! Jamie wasn’t feelin’ her new locks, which had been given some red highlights. Not only did she not like the new look, she was brought to tears! She was, however, able to put her game face on when the girls were told they needed to strut the red carpet for an InStyle Magazine party.

Ok, this is where the show reached a new cheese point for us. The “red carpet event” was very obviously staged. We’re not really sure why Robin and the producers got the girls’ hopes up by telling them they were about to be on a red carpet. Seriously, the girls screamed and jumped up and down when the heard the news. When they finally got out there it seemed more like a Barbizon graduation than anything special. Still, the girls did a great job of at least pretending. The standout winner of the red carpet competition was Nicole, who gained immunity for this week's elimination competition.

When the girls were given their groups and the song they would be singing, it was clear that the producers of the show were trying to get particular people sent home. What really struck us as being unfair was that Robin gave Cassandra's group the song, "Heart of Glass" by Blondie, which is hard to sing no matter what your range is. Let's face it, the girls were doomed from the start. And then there was Jamie who is gorgeous and can dance; her singing is so-so, but she let her feelings about her makeover get in the way of performing. When it came to elimination, Cassandra was sent packing. Everyone, including Robin, was brought to tears.

What did you think of this week's episode? Did the right girl get sent home?

I agree with the claim that the producers were looking to eliminate certain girls, because they gave the group with the least amount of vocal ability one of the hardest songs to sing. I was also very unhappy with Chrystina's attitude.

The one everyone needs to watch out for is Tiffanie. Notice how every single week, her groups are always ready and no one gets eliminated?? I don't know if the judges really see her as viable, being they seem to really like Chrystina, Charlye, and Natalie, but they really need to give her a hard look. She has the talent, the leadership, and she has WORK ETHIC. Unlike the other chicks who act like they're entitled to their position, Tiffanie ain't afraid to fight for it.

Someone will always have to be in the bottom two (or four), we say: get over yourselves.

Thank God for someone else thinking that, too. Chrystina's whole "I didn't think I deserved to be in the bottom 2" completely rubbed me the wrong way. Her attitude, as well as Natalie's - I just... I honestly hope they get eliminated. I don't care how talented they are (although there are girls who have more talent). Nobody would want to be a group with girls who are so obviously full of themselves.

I hope Tiffanie punches Natalie in the face.

Hey Laura, the point is to tell us what you think. Love it? Hate it? Think it's stupid? We want to hear it all!
