Girlicious: Sex Appeal
No one saved their drama for their mommas in the Girlicious household in this week's episode. Not that the claws had ever been put away, but the girls grew them extra long for the Sexy competition.
It has been obvious from the get-go that there were two groups being pitted against each other. You've got Jenna, Natalie and Chrystine on one side and Tiffanie, Charlye and Nichole on the other; it was only a matter of time before they had a Sharks vs. Jets catfight. What sparked the drama this week was the sexy dance competition the ladies had to perform with some male dancers who had been brought in to spice things up.
Some of the girls got down and dirty and others played it a little safe. Was it just us, or was this challenge incredibly misleading? Robin was saying that this was supposed to be about sex appeal, but when the girls got too sexy they got kicked to the curb. To Jenna's defense, the girl can't dance so she basically had to lay on the ground and let the guy bump and grind her. Charlye and her man did a great job of showing off sexy moves away from each other, but really, she probably could've done it all by herself and made it look just as sexy. If the point of this challenge was to make something look sexy with a man, Chrystine and her partner looking like they were knockin' boots were the obvious winners. Oooooh, and what a prize they won! Besides gaining immunity, Chrystine (and second place Charlye) received diamond Hello Kitty necklaces!
Now excuse us, but Hello Kitty? Has Sanrio always been a supporter of the Pussycat Dolls?
Aren't Hello Kitty products supposed to be geared towards young children? Is this really something we should be giving out as a prize for being sexy? The show is starting to come across as cheaper and cheaper every episode.
Charlye didn't seem to be too impressed with the judge's decision to give Chrystine immunity for her sexually transmitted dances. She also confronted Jenna about her scandalous dance moves and insisted that she didn't need to roll around on the floor with some random dude in order to be sexy. Charlye, some people aren't as lucky (or classy) as you are. Jenna then opened her trap to Chrystine -- telling her the other girls were talking trash about her moves. Of course, an argument erupted over large bowls of ramen noodles. Tiffanie put her pink hoodie over her head and was ready to get her crazy on. Jamie sat back and laughed -- which is exactly what we would've done too.
The next morning, Jenna decided she couldn't take it anymore and was ready to throw in the boa. Robin came to talk her out of it, but we wanted her to show Jenna the door. She may be a great singer, but her dance moves are awful and her attitude even worse. Still, she made it to the final rehearsal and pulled off an adequate performance.
When it came time to shine, Carrie and Chrystine stole the show. Jamie's vocals and Ilisa's lack of sex appeal made them obvious choices for the judges to send home. We thought Jenna should've been sent home instead, but it's hard to pick which of the other girls should have stayed. Ilisa has more all-around talent while Jamie has the dance moves and the sex appeal necessary to be in a girl-group. What did you think of last night's episode? Do you think the right girls went home? Were you surprised that Jenna stayed?
