90210 Recap: Model Behavior

Ok, we had to include this picture because Naomi's shoes are distracting. What are those? Anyway...

Last night's episode of 90210 focused mostly on the older generation - which we were actually happy about. Debbie Wilson finally had something more to do than be a doting wife and mother hanging around the house dispensing advice. It was great to see her step up and take the reins when her boss was in need of help. Her confidence got her in the door and her abilities got her the job shooting at the show.

In Mr. Matthew's class, the students are given an assignment to write a paper on a career they may be interested in pursuing. Annie decides to write the paper about the photo shoot and is convinced by Mr. Matthews to let problem-addled Adrianna tag along. Ryan, Kelly and Brenda are all still trying to figure out if Adrianna has been abusing drugs and this might be a good way for them to find out. Meanwhile, Kelly's got some other issues to handle: Dylan wants to talk and get back into her and Sammy's lives. All of this drama forces her to tell Ryan right now isn't the best time for them to get into a relationship. A very hurt Ryan brings up a good point - why did Dylan call Brenda if he really wanted to speak to Kelly?

When all of the thoughts about the past love-triangle between Kelly, Brenda and Dylan come to the surface, Kelly basically verbally attacks Brenda and accuses her of having more than a friendly relationship with him. Brenda denies anything more than just trying to protect Kelly - but when she deletes Dylan's phone number out of her phone it becomes a little more suspicious. If they really are just friends, why not keep the number? Also, are Brenda and Ryan starting to get something going? He was looking more mischievous with Brenda at his side and we kind of liked that!

In other complicated relationship news, Naomi is still plotting to get her parents back together. She confuses sex for love and tries to sabotage a dinner out with her father and his girlfriend by telling Gail about her father's recent liaisons with her mother. This was probably one of our favorite scenes in the entire show. Naomi's self-satisfied look when she takes a sip of the wine left behind by her father was priceless. When she tries to get her parents back together at the runway party her father's anger explodes and he tells her there is no chance for the marriage to work; put a fork in it, it's done. She leaves with Ethan and unfortunately for her, we can see the parallels between her parents' relationship and hers with Ethan. When she says "I think it's over for good this time," and he agrees, it is obvious that he's talking about their own relationship.

Adrianna starts to warm up to Annie, especially when Annie makes sure to include her in a discussion with an indie film producer who happened to catch "Spring Awakening" and offers both of them a chance to audition for her. In order to make things up to Annie, Adrianna confesses to screwing things up for her and Ty by lying to both of them about the other one cheating. This gets Annie furious - which sets Adrianna off and in the end we see her trying to score more drugs. Later in the evening, Ty comes to find Annie after getting a text from Adrianna confessing to her lies. What really irked us was the discussion between Annie and Ty. Didn't it seem as though Ty was basically saying that now that Annie isn't willing to sleep with him - he's only interested in being friends? Were we missing something here?

Silver and Dixon's relationship seems to be getting hot and heavy; the two can't keep their hands off of each other (which makes us wonder about when Silver's got Kelly place all to herself). When the client at the fashion show starts getting creepy with Silver, Dixon steps in and tells him to get his hands off of her. Of course the creepy guy couldn't leave things at that - he calls Dixon a thug and pushes Dixon over the edge with some racially charged comments. A punch is thrown, the creep fires Debbie's boss and their company and can now move on to his next underage pursuit. Luckily (and surprisingly) Debbie's boss didn't fire her - he praised her talents instead.

What did you think of last night's episode? The next episode will be in two weeks and looks like there will be tons of drama. Tell us what you think in the comments!
