One Tree Hill: The Downward Spiral

Trouble Nexus #1: Dan and Rachel
Oh, how we love Dan and Rachel, the deliciously dubious duo. It doesn't matter how many door are slammed in his face, Dan is determined to weasel his way back into his family -- and it looks like Jamie supports that plan. But we were most in love with Rachel again this week -- she's just so deliciously bitchy! Our favorite Rachel quote was this line to Jamie: "I remember you when you were a rumor in third period!" Hah!
Of course, things don't go as planned for the couple -- Nathan won't let Dan back in, Brooke won't forgive Rachel, and no one is impressed by their LA-based success (except Jamie.) But Dan won't give up -- he's staying until he gets redemption -- even if he has to beat up the entire town to get it.
Trouble Nexus #2: Brooke and Julian and Alex and Millie and Mouth
First the bad news: Brooke isn't pregnant. Then the worse news: Alex is completely unequipped to deal with life when she's not spending all her time with Julian. She finds a vial of coke and calls Julian in tears -- save me from myself! Julian abandons Brooke to talk her down. He convinces her to dump the coke, but when she tries, there's nothing there. Julian is livid -- this was all just a game to get to to spend time with you and stay away from Brooke! Alex protests her innocence, saying someone must have stolen the drugs. But who could have done such a thing?
That would be Millie, who has embarked on the fasted downward spiral since... well, since this. Not only is she taking diet pills, mouthing off to Mouth and Brooke, and stealing top-secret designs from Brooke's studio, she's also turned into a thieving drug fiend. Oh, Millie!
Trouble Nexus #3: Nathan and Haley and Clay and Quinn
We're glad Haley's free concert went well (despite Miranda's "pep talk"), but that looks like the last bit of good news for the Scotts for a while. Clay holds out for a three-year deal for Nathan, and ends up with no deal -- the Bobcats blow all their money on another player. Oops. Clay isn't looking like such an uber-agent anymore. RIght now he's too distracted by smooching Quinn to care, but it's going to get ugly for him very, very soon.
Other thoughts
- Brooke, we understand you're disappointed that you're not pregnant. However, you don't throw out your birth control without first having a conversation with your significant other.
- Seriously, does Millie's modeling position come with a frontal lobotomy? She's had a total personality transplant! And when did she find the time to steal Alex's stash? We thought Alex and Julian were in the room with the coke the entire time.
- Mouth knows something is seriously awry when Millie actually calls him "Mouth," not Marvin. Let's face it -- neither name trips off the tongue, you know?
- Dear Naley: You have to know better than to say things like "Dan can't hurt us anymore." Because we're guessing he can.
- This episode was brought to you by your local home security company. Brooke mentions watching Alex leave on her "sneaky slut-cam," while Jamie knows who's knocking because he saw Grandpa Dan on the security cam.
- Quinn teaches Clay the true meaning of life when she takes him to the charity outfit she volunteers at. Keep that in mind when you realize that your only client is now out of a job, Clay...
- We loved this exchange between Dan and Nate: "Nathan, you remember my wife, Rachel" "Yes. Of course. Oh, and when you and Deb are tired of my high school class, I'm sure I can rummage through some of my old middle school friends for you."
- The one good note -- Julian asks his dad to co-produce Alex's movie with him, and he agrees. Of course, now that Julian thinks Alex is a manipulative liar, all bets might be off...
What did you think of the ep? Talk about it in the comments!

I'm sorry one more thing. THEY TOLD HER THAT SHE COULDN'T EVER GET PREGNANT. Did you people just not see that part or something?? Nathan should give up basketball though. This story is dragging out and I agree that they are running out of juice for this show. They need to rap it up and quit the series.

Okay, so I watch oth everyday on soap and cw. I keep up with three story lines right now, the new ones, the beginning and in the middle. Here is what I have to say. I am at a point right now in the middle when Brooke slaps naked Rachel in Lucas back seat. I was never a fan of Brooke and Rachel being friends, and am glad they aren't any more, it just wasn't there. I also don't like Julian much and he isn't helping by spending all of his time with Alex. I liked Owen with Brooke and Chase even better, though I can't say I am disappointed with them hooking Chase and Mia up. I almost didn't watch the show any more because Lucas and Peyton left, but I have given it a chance. Also, a couple episodes ago I heard someone talking to Haley about Peyton giving something up for her family. Wasn't paying much attention to the show at the time but what is that about anyway? Does that mean Leyton is pregnant now?? If so I would like to know considering Peyton was one of my faves. And now what, the one girl who truly wanted to get pregnant can't? Who decided Brooke shouldn't get pregnant cause that upsets me. Jamie, while I love him, was unplanned. And Peyton lost her baby. Why make Brooke not be able to get pregnant. That is just sorry. And why should Naley have any say in what Clay and Quinn do? No one wanted Naley together in the beginning and now they feel they should have control over Clay and Quinn? I like Clay and Quinn, they are a cute couple and the "get" each other. And I don't know who decided that Dan and Rachel should be together. I missed that episode I guess because that is just wrong. Yes they are perfect, but rob the cradle much Dan? That is just wrong. Rachel should be alone for all of her evil schemes and Dan deserves no one. He is making money from his brothers murder? What the heck! Yes I have a lot to say about all of this because lately it just doesn't make sense. I really loved Naley, but for them to intervene in Clay and Quinn's relationship?! That is so messed up. And then getting rid of Leyton. And I don't even know what happened to Sam cause I missed a few episodes. Brooke needs kids. That's all there is to that. She better have a miracle or something since she ditched the birth control. Seriously. Writers of OTH, kick it up a few notches or I will quit watching..

I miss Brooke and Rachel hanging out together. All of a sudden they're not friends anymore? I mean, Brooke can forgive her mom, Lucas and Peyton, probably Julian, and slaps Rachel because of money? That's out of character. Although Rachel was asking for it with that bullshit speech about forgiveness lol. I just hope things get sorted out by the end of the season.
Also, Clay annoys me. Also, the new guy Alexander already annoys me. Also, I'm sick of Nathan's basketball drama. Also, I want Deb back. Also, Dan should be forgiven. Also, the bearded bartender and Haley's producer should be cute. Also, am I the only one rooting for Julian and Alex? Yup.

Hi guys, I really love to read your comments, but where the hell are those podcasts?
Oh, and where did Mia go those last weeks?
Oh, and when will you guys finish season 2?
I know, these are a lot of questions, but I had to ask them once..
Love the comments though!

Kim- Miranda (India de Beaufort) was born and raised in England, so her accent is real.

I am getting tired of Mouth speaking from Brooke’s side to everyone. I mean last week it was to Julian & this week to Rachel & then Millie,I know he is like the voice of reason of the show & he was being a good friend to Brooke or whatever, but sometimes it just feels like he is still carrying a torch for Brooke or something& that’s annoying & weird.
& Brooke was way out of line to slap Rachel, she came to give an apology & I don’t care if she found it sincere or not,but she shouldn’t have slapped her. She is not some punching bag, If Brooke wanted to slap someone so bad, she should have slapped Millie or Alex or even Julian, I don’t care, but she had no right to take her anger out on Rachel. Brooke is completely driving me crazy now. She’s either pouting or whining or being plain bitchy.

I am totally over Brooke right now (not that I was ever a big fan). she's not pregnant, jeez i mean how old is she? Like 20 something.she needs to live a little!! Hate Alex she's so needy all the damn time! Though you have to give some credit - she was telling the truth the there was coke (whether she was going to relapse I don't know). Is it possible to be in love with someone who's not real? Because if so 'I love you Clay'. He's soo hot=D quite excited about the Clay/Quinn thing though if the writers are trying to make them the new Leyton it's. Not going to be easy to replace the.

1. hurry up with the podcasts please!!!! 2. Brooke is still my favorite character. imagine always watching your friends get everything you want and after peyton stole lucas away from her i would be a little paraniod too! why can't the writers throw her a freakin bone here make brooke pregnant!

like the first commenter said, brooke is my favourite character, just like sophia bush is my favourite actress, but what the hell are they doing to her character? brooke has some serious issues in my opinion.
OTH is like an addiction, i cant stop watching it, but seriously, end it already so sophia bush can move onto better things. It's like watching the same thing over over and over again. Naley bores me to death as well. And did Austin Nichols' acting get significantly worse? he delivers all his lines the same way, the over pronounciation used to be adorable, now its just plain annoying.

It would have made more sense if Brooke were pregnant. Then she could have the baby and marry Julian. They need to stop with the drama. Everyone should be working towards a happily- ever- after. Especially Brooke and Julian and Mouth and Millie. They should bring back Owen for Alex. Julian and Alex? Julian and Brooke? Brooke and Chase? Owen and Brooke? Owen and Alex? It doesn't matter as long as it's all wrapped up. Clay and Quinn should end up together though. Everything should finally start heading towards a proper series finale. Because one thing I know for sure is that this season is the last one that the show has in it. The season is practically half over and everything should be calming down. Side note: the basketball contract. Who cares? Nathan got to live his dream for a year. He made it. He should go back to coaching and let Haley focus on her music and touring.

Wholeheartedly agree that you don't throw out your birth control pills without consulting your significant other. Lucas spent so many years trying to build Brooke's self-confidence, she even repaired (if temporarily) her relationship with her mother, she has all this success, and she still thinks she needs the man. What the heck is the rush? Women have babies until their 40s and she's making this the cornerstone of her existence?

Brooke used to be my favorite character now I can't stand her anymore. She's too insecure and I love Julian and Alex together.

Yeah, Brooke's doctor totally had a "you're not pregnant, but you *are* dying," face on.
And I cannot be the only one who is furious that the "will Nathan ever play basketball again?" story never never NEVER dies. I really can't stand it anymore. Either do it or don't. Sheesh!

Yeah i don't think Brooke threw away her birth control because she wants to get pregnant. I think either she is ready to break up with Julian, and thinks she wont need it, or she has some medical problems the doctor told her about, and she cant get pregnant, so doesn't need it. I didn't like Hayley's hair, or her hat, and Miranda is really irritating, and completely unneeded and has the worst fake English accent.

im thinking there's more to the whole brooke not being pregnant... it looked to me like the doctor had more to say than just "you're not pregnant."
