America's Next Top Model recap: And the Cycle 15 winner is...

"Ladies, if I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times. LAY OFF THE GELATO."

Cycle 15 of America's Next Top Model has been a wild, Italian roller coaster ride, complete with fantastic, historic scenery, hot foreign boys and heat strokes. And now it’s come down to the final two. Chelsey has the most experience and during the competition she has proven herself with hard work and determination. She’s wanted to be a super model for 20 years. And Ann, who calls herself a nerd, has been awkward everywhere but in front of the camera, where it seems she can do no wrong.

Chelsey has always received more criticism than compliments as she has struggled in the industry and Ann has always been teased for her height. Now they have the chance to prove everyone wrong. They’re both just five short steps away from making Top Model history.

Step one: The shoot for Vogue Italia
Valentina Serra, the stylist for Vogue Italia preps the girls and then they are released to photographer Vincent Peters, who we thought belonged more in front of the camera than behind it. But we digress. Despite the bugs, bugging, Vincent liked both of the girls. Way to not help with the ultimate decision, dude.

Step two: The dreaded CoverGirl commercial
The commercial seems to be the most challenging aspect of the final two and has driven past contestants to tears. But this time they go easy on the girls. No memorization required. They just need to shoot at the location and then record voiceover afterward. We’re certain Ann sold her soul to the devil for that little favor. However, the goal is to look easy and breezy, not cheesy—it’s key to remember that. Jay is impressed with both Chelsey and Ann and he’s happy to provide some inspiration as, surprise, their parents walk on set. They get to watch the girls in action and see them do their beauty shoot.

Step three: The CoverGirl photo shoot
Photographer Federico De Angelis is on hand to do the honors. He finds Chelsey easy and very commercial in a certain way and he loves Ann and found her very editorial. Way to not help again.

And then there’s a special stop on the way to the top—an individual meet-and-greet with Ivan Bart, Senior VP of IMG Models. Chelsey shows her drive and passion. He likes her personality and could see himself working with her. Then he feels like he’d like to work with Ann’s personality a bit but really appreciated her photos. Welcome to Cycle 15, Ivan.

Step four: The fashion show
The show may be featuring Roberto Cavalli and the models may be wearing clothes from his Just Cavalli collection, but it’s all about Ann and Chelsey. Luckily, Trya brings back Liz, Chris, Jane and Kayla who return to walk the show with the finalists. And to top it off, Cycle 14 winner Krista arrives as well. The family units are all in attendance, including Trent, Ann’s brother who is, somehow, even taller than she is! Backstage is chaos—naked models running everywhere and the changes are rushed. Ann’s walk is much improved but she still has that deer-in-the headlights look. Naturally, the ‘rents are so proud of their girls!

Step five: Panel and the crowning of ANTM Cycle 15
Finally, it’s time for panel and the crowning of ANTM Cycle 15. We have not one, but two guest judges this time—Mr. Jay (about dang time, we say--and looking so dapper, too!) and Roberto Cavalli. They start with footage from the runway and everyone tears Chelsey apart. Really? We don’t get it because she seemed really comfortable and looked like a pro. On the other hand, they praise Ann and tell her that her walk is “her own.” That’s code for lame. The only one who seems to have her senses about her is Tyra who tells Ann that her eyes looked a little zombie.

The commercial—everyone was really impressed with both girls and their performance, except that Tyra found it “too realistic” and we forgot that the girls were selling makeup. Well, the gelato did look yummy.

The CoverGirl photo allowed both of the girls to shine and for once, Mr. Jay could tell the rest of the panel how it really was during the shoot—sure, Ann takes lovely photos but it was so awkward on set that it took the photographer all he could do to get the shot. On the other hand, the photographer declared that Chelsey was a “joy” to photograph.

However, apparently none of that ultimately makes any difference. When it comes down to deliberation time the judges see that Ann is high fashion editorial without even knowing it. But does she have the ability to run without her training wheels? Chelsey may know her stuff. But how important is that when it comes to being a superstar?

The Cycle 15 winner is selected and it’s Ann! She’s over the moon but and Chelsey feels cheated. She won several challenges and was never, once, in the bottom two. Ann didn’t win one challenge, struggled and did find herself in the bottom two. So, what do you think about the decision? Do you think that Ann has what it takes to make it in the world of high fashion? Do you think Chelsey was cheated? Tell us in the comments!

Ann definitely was the right choice! Chelsey wasn't high-fashion enough for Italian Vogue...wasn't that the point of the whole season? ANTM is going more high-fashion. Winning challenges is great and all, but it comes down to the photos. How many times did Chelsey get best photo? Yea, not very many times(if any at all?). Finally, ANTM picked the right winner!

I definitely feel like Chelsea was cheated! She was the total package and deserved to win! I think Ann does not have what it takes to make it in the industry. I actually found her to get more and more on my nerves as the season went on.
