One Tree Hill Podcast: Crying Won't Help You Now

We're not holding back on this week's podcast! After reading the comments and realizing we can't please everyone all of the time, Mia, Sarah and I decide to stop playing it safe and start getting real. And we're having a lot of fun doing it! From Dan's tombstone engraving to Haley's disposal of Jamie's thank-you note, no OTH topic is sacred. We discuss tough Lucas, Brooke's latest career move, the manuscript that apparently has all the answers (we want a copy!) and Peyton's surprise trip to visit Lindsey.

Listen to our latest One Tree Hill podcast for "Crying Won't Help You Now!" and let us know what you think in the comments. Plus, can subscribe in iTunes to be the very first to get our latest podcasts!

One Tree Hill: Comeback Central

This episode was all about comebacks. Dan tried for a comeback with his family. But ticking clock or not, Nathan's dead set on not ever allowing Dan to be part of Jamie’s life. Then, once Lucas confirms that the man is in fact dying, the brothers Scott both decide to continue to blackball their father for the last six months of his life.

Meanwhile, Dan can tell that Nathan's trying to come back to basketball and he tries to convince him to reinvent his game. But Nathan doesn’t want his dad to come back into his life as his family or his coach.

Skills and Lucas find a way for the Ravens to come back after Q’s injury. Q reinvents his game and becomes the team’s new point guard, and the rest of the talentless team learns to shoot three pointers.

Mouth comes back from a devastating first try at doing on-air sports. After a painful first try, Mouth was left tongue-tied and wet (we were having Albert Brooks in “Broadcast News” flashbacks!) and Millie knew that her man needed some support. So she headed down to the station, gave him a pep talk and he rocked his second try.

Brooke had a career comeback of her own. After arriving late and frazzled to her big presentation, she won over the uppity board by offering up a line of adorable Baby Brooke Clothes. Wonder what Victoria would say about that?

One Tree Hill Recap: Life Is Short

Jamie celebrated his birthday with quite a cast of characters -- Lindsey returned, Deb got frisky with a clown, and Dan tried to stop by... and managed to leave his mark with a sentimental gift and some shocking news. Plus, Brooke leaned on Lucas (literally) when she had trouble with baby Angie in a scene that had everyone talking. Watch Jason C.'s OTH recap!

One Tree Hill Poll: Who Should Skills Date?

Skills has been single for awhile now, and we're wondering who he should date. After all, he deserves a chance at love, right? But who would be the lucky lady? Should Skills date someone unexpected, someone from his group of friends, a new character, or should he just stay single for awhile? Tell us what you think!

OTH Podcast: All That You Can't Leave Behind

You all are really in for a treat with this week's Season One One Tree Hill Podcast! We've made it to 1.05, "All That You Can't Leave Behind".

Jackie, Sarah and I finished our drinks and made it to 1 a.m. to do our recap. This was a pretty big episode for everyone in Tree Hill. The father/son basketball game made things a bit awkward for all of the Scott boys. The anniversary of Peyton's mother's death leaves her with no regard for traffic signals. We debate whether or not Lucas has a right to be upset with Haley's new friendship with Nathan. Meanwhile...what's going on between those two?

Obviously, post your comments and let us know what you think. You can check back here for another blast from the past next Friday, or you can always check us out in iTunes.

One Tree Hill Podcast: Life Is Short

What an episode! In our latest One Tree Hill podcast, we discuss the big moments in "Life Is Short:" Dan's six-months-to-live reveal, Lindsey's anticlimactic return, and, of course, the scenes everyone's talking about: Brucas! Are they friends leaning on each other during a tough time, or something more? We debate.

Is Brucas back?

We also talk about Deb getting frisky with that creepy clown (shudder!), Brooke's struggles with baby Angie, and Lucas's broken heart. And Haley, as always, knows exactly what to say.

Oh, and yes, we know that pic isn't from this week's episode -- sadly, the network didn't release any new pics, so we had to use a Brucas pic from a few episodes back.

One Tree Hill: Happy Birthday, Jamie!

For his fifth birthday, Jamie wanted two things: a Wii and to have his Grandpa Dan come to his birthday party. He got both... but he never knew about Dan. Skills scored a Wii for the kid and Dan ended up coming by the party, but got stopped at the door. He did manage to leave a nice gift -- Nathan’s very first basketball jersey. There was no card, but Nathan recognized it. When Nathan headed to his dad’s house to tell him (again) to leave his family alone, Dan admitted to his son that he needs a heart transplant. It’s his hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and the doctors have given him six months to live.

What should Nathan do now? Do you think that he should give Dan access to his family now that he only has six months to live or is it absolutely too late for any type of reconciliation with the man?

Lindsey returned to Tree Hill -- but why? Supposedly she came for Jamie’s birthday party, but she arrived late and barely spoke to the kid. She was hanging out by the gifts, but we don’t know for sure if one was from her because she walked in empty handed. Nice. She asked to stop by Lucas’ place after the party. Rather than move back in with Lucas (which would have been a really huge, sudden move after all they’ve been through), she came back to the house to get the rest of her belongings and even though Lucas refused to take back the key, she left it at the door. And she also left him brokenhearted.

Talk about dragging out a storyline. Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of that character after that pointless visit. It almost seems like even Lucas is over it at this point.

Brooke got a firsthand look at the more heinous side of parenting. Get no sleep. Have no life. Repeat.

One Tree Hill Podcast: Crash Into You

It's Friday, and you know what that means...

Lucas and Nathan face off at the party

... it's time for another Season One One Tree Hill podcast! In our latest One Tree Hill podcast for "Crash Into You," we discuss the big beach house party! We loved Deb's introduction to the show, debate Lucas's reactions to the growing Haley/Nathan friendship, and analyze Nathan's many sides. The Peyton/Nathan relationship dissolved in this episode, but Deb and Karen seem to be forming a friendship, which we like to see.

As always, post your comments and let us know what you think! We'll be back with our podcast from 1.05 next Friday. Subscribe on iTunes and be the first to get our new podcasts!

One Tree Hill Podcast: What Do You Go Home To?

PeytonIn this week's episode, we adored watching Nathan and Haley take new risks with their passions (and support each other along the way), can't stand Q but somehow also feel sympathy for him, and wonder how Brooke will handle motherhood. We also talk about Mouth and Millicent's next step and discuss why we really liked Lucas and Peyton this week.

One Tree Hill: What Do You Go Home To?

The adoption agency is giving Brooke a baby after all -- but it’s a special case, a foster care thing. Amidst all of the initial joy, we wonder if she's setting herself up for some potential pain. After all, she’s taking in a baby from another country and the kid needs major surgery. The baby will come and stay with Brooke, have an operation and then go home to her parents -- eaving one sad Brooke Davis behind.

No matter what happens later, we're just happy to see Brooke this happy over the exciting new development. And how cute was that scene where Haley and Peyton reminded her that she needed to buy stuff like food and a crib besides a room full of stuffed animals! We're looking forward to seeing Brooke get parenting tips from Haley and Nathan -- but we think she's going to be just fine once she gets over her fears.

One Tree Hill Podcast: Are You True?

We're podcasting our way through Season One of One Tree Hill, and we're back with a new podcast for episode 1.03, "Are You True?"!

Nathan

In this podcast, we discuss our sympathy for Lucas during the ongoing hazing, debate the much talked-about scene where Brooke shows up naked in Lucas's car, and gush over the cuteness of the Nathan/Haley storyline. Oh, and thanks to Lucas's nearly-nude scene, Sarah has developed a new appreciation for Chad Michael Murray (this episode had a lot of nudity, didn't it!).

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace"

The episode started with the Scott brothers punching Dan, but the ending packed a much bigger punch -- some serious Naley reconciliation!

Haley and Nathan, seconds before their hot embrace!

We adore the Nathan/Haley scenes (they saved a rather slow episode!), debate the Dan/Jamie interactions, and are just not buying the Brooke-wants-a-baby storyline yet. One Tree Hill: One Month Later

Instead of being welcomed back with open arms, Dan was welcomed back with closed fists after bringing Jamie safely home. Once outside, Lucas and Nathan immediately took the opportunity to pummel the man with facial punches. However, that all came to a screeching halt when Jamie came out to give Grandpa Dan a “thank you” hug. There’s no denying the bond between the two now.

Not only is Dan now totally focused on his grandson -- he makes frequent secret visits to Jamie’s school. And Jamie is stoked to see the reformed murderer. Is it cute or is it creepy?

What we loved: We loved seeing Haley and Nathan sitting on the couch at the therapist’s office. It was good to see them hash it out and work on their relationship. When was the last time that they did something young and foolish together? The therapist suggested that they act like selfish 22-year olds. She also suggested that they follow their dreams. We’re so pleased that Nathan moved from the guest bedroom back into the master bedroom. There’s hope for them yet!

What we didn’t love: Brooke continues to move forward with the adoption plans. She wants to use her success to help a child to enjoy the life that they would have otherwise never had—she wants to be a mom.
