Every month should be Hispanic Heritage Month

Today, Lisa Mateo geared up for Hispanic Heritage Month by checking out some of the best Latin food in town. She went to Sofrito (400 E 57th St.) to make its famous sancocho, then off to It's a Dominican Thing (144 W 19th St) for some mangu, and the last stop, Cafecito (185 Ave. C) to try out their ropa vieja. As a web-only bonus, you can check out how to make another dish from Cafecito called bollos, which are black bean and corn fritters. Looks dee-lish!
