Traces Of Drugs In The Drinking Water?

Lawmakers are promising to look into reports that there are traces of pharmaceutical drugs in the nation's drinking water.

New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg and California senator Barbara Boxer say oversight hearings will probably be held in April. They come in response to an associated press investigation finding trace amounts of pharmaceuticals in the drinking water that supplies more than 40-million Americans.

24 major metropolitan areas are reportedly affected --- including New York and northern New Jersey.

And, scientists are now turning to some of the country's jazz musicians to study how the brain works.

Their goal?

To find out where creativity comes from. Researchers say how we play and hear music ties into most everyday cognitive functions... And understanding them better may help scientists find treatments for some brain disorders.

Scientists say there are new benefits to yoga.

According to a new study, it may help reduce menopausal symptoms in breast cancer survivors.

Survivors often suffer from more severe hot flashes and other problems, but the breathing exercises, physical stretching postures and meditation techniques yoga offers can help alleviate them.

And, researchers now say aspirin may aid in the fight against breast cancer. According to a new study, regular use of aspirin -- and possibly other anti-inflammatory drugs -- may reduce breast cancer risk by as much as 20%, but scientists warn that it's still not clear whether or not the risks of long-term treatment outweigh the potential benefits.
