Actor/Comedian Eddie Izzard Says That All Actors Are Liars

eddia0411.jpg

There so many reasons to love Eddie Izzard - he's funny, he's a good actor, he really knows how to be stylish when dressing in drag, and maybe my favorite, he's willing to give impromtu history lessons to total strangers. He did the latter this morning as he was leaving our studio.

Coming upon a map of our tri-state area on the wall in our newsroom, and seeing me notice, he immediately launched into the lesson, "...and back in the ice age, glaciers slid down from the Arctic and cut the valley that we now know as the Long Island Sound dumping their residue creating Long Island." I said to him that even today Long Island still seems to be a dumping ground. Eddie's reply? He said he believed that the mafia has always been quite adherent to history & tradition, and the whole thing made sense to him.

Eddie also talked about his show The Riches. The second season premieres Tuesday night on FX. And, in case you may have missed his month-long run at the Union Square Theater in Feb-March, he will be back in town at Radio City on Friday, June 27th, Saturday, June 28th, and Sunday, June 29th, check here for tickets & information.
