Tamsen's Twist: Alvin Ailey's Dance Theatre

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT), America’s foremost cultural ambassador is celebrating 50 years. AADT will be featured as a part of Macy’s Stars of Dance, a weekly part of the Dancing with the Stars Results Show presenting some of the best choreographers and performers from different styles of dance. The Company, whose popularity is unrivaled, honors the African-American cultural experience and the American modern dance tradition, inspiring and uniting people of all backgrounds around the world.

Tamsen interviewed famed creative director Judith Jamison and took a dance class at the dance school/center. - Ailey II performances at The Joyce from April 30 – May 8 - Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performances at New Jersey Performing Arts Center May 9 – 11 (the 11th is Mothers Day) - 2 free classes are being offered to the public for a variety of open dance classes at The Ailey Studios during National Dance Week New York (May 8 – 17)
