Singer Sam Harris Debuts His 'Free' Album

Before American Idol and Ryan Seacrest, there was Star Search and Ed McMahon.

And it was on the 1980s singing competition show that Sam Harris rose to fame and became an overnight sensation. Now, eight albums later, Harris is at it again with his new CD Free, which is available in stores now.

Harris' career is not limited to singing, though. He's been in several Broadway plays such as "The Producers," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Cabaret" and "Hair." And aside from the stage, Harris' acting credits include the small and silver screens. His TV work includes Down to Earth and The Class. He has been in the films In The Weeds and little man.

"I love what I do and I find that I get bored easily, so I'm always doing new things. Last year I was on a TV series and now I'm doing a new record," Harris stated, "It's crazy, but it keeps going and it feeds itself. I'm really, really blessed."

This Oklahoma native is also a new father to his adopted 3-month-old son Cooper Atticus Harris-Jacobsen. "I haven't slept in three months," Harris said.

But how does he keep those creative juices flowing with no sleep? Harris stated, "I'm living on love fumes, baby."
