Ed Westwick 'Gossips' About Season 2

Actor Ed Westwick plays Chuck Bass on the hit show Gossip Girl, whose season premiere is on September 1.

Westwick, an English actor, puts on an American accent to play his role. Based on the novel series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl follows the lives of six Upper East Side prep school students. Their rivalries and conflicts are followed by the show's narrator, the Gossip Girl, who also runs a blog about the secret going-ons and rumors within the prep school.

Chuck is the bad boy and the anti-hero of the group. He is edgy and manipulates others to get what he wants. At the end of season one, Chuck was dating fellow elite socialite Blair (Leighton Meester). They were planning a trip to Italy, but Chuck stood Blair up at the airport and opted to meet an interior designer. Blair, who was left at the airport, meets a stranger and gets on the plane with him.
