National Fire Week at Great Neck, Long Island

The heat is on so stop, drop and roll! Larry was live at the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Department headquarters on Long Island where they are teaching you and training you how to avoid or get out of a home fire. It's National Fire Prevention Week and this year's theme is "prevent home fires."

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), in 2007, U.S. fire departments responded to 399,000 home structure fires. These fires caused 13,600 civilian injuries, 2,865 civilian deaths, $7.4 billion in direct damage. The Hoff and the volunteers will have a mock home on fire and train how to get you and your family out of a smokey situation.
