Friday Forecaster: Comedian Tom Arnold

This week's Friday Forecaster is actor/comedian Tom Arnold. He's in town performing stand-up tonight and tomorrow at the The Stress Factory Comedy Club.
This Iowa native began doing stand-up when he was 23-years-old. During this time, the early 1980s, Arnold had a comedy routine called "Tom Arnold and the Goldfish Review". At the end of his prop comedy, he would swallow all the goldfish for the final laugh. He then became a writer on the show Roseanne and then one of its stars. Arnold's film credits include True Lies, Nine Months, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,Soul Plane and Good Dick.

The comic performance piece which has gained a devoted following in performances in the Hamptons is now in NYC and will play Sunday evenings at Don't Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street starting April 19th. Performances will then be Sundays, May 17th, June 21st, July 19th and August 30th at 6 PM.

Ketaki Shriram has been crafting compelling stories from the tender age of eight, when she completed her first short story for a local book fair.
Over the next few years her love of writing grew so intense that by age 10 she had completed her first long form fictional story. By 13, she had completed her first novel, Sorceress of the Himalayas, which she had published at age 16. And today was her 17th birthday!
When she is not writing, Ketaki, an outstanding student, is highly active in her high school's student government (as student body president) and is opinion editor on her school newspaper. She is currently working on her next novel.

She's promoting Dora Saves the Snow Princess , a movie on DVD that is available in stores now, that features the new voiceover cast for season five of Dora the Explorer. As well, the Dora Party Favorites CD is in stores now.
The series airs regularly at 10:30am on Nickelodeon.

Nothing sets up a Friday quite like than the sight of about 30 elementary schoolers taking over the newsroom at 7am. These kids were really good, too, stealthy, they came in and before anyone knew, they were on the air telling the entire New York area what weather to expect this weekend. Linda had a great time, the kids had a great time, and who knows, it probably won't be long until some of those very children will be drawing salaries here.

All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will benefit the Newark/Ironbound Boys and Girls Club to purchase computers and other much needed equipment for the countless inner city children and seniors who frequent the club.
